On June 25, Duy Tan University held a press conference to announce its collaboration with PASSAGE TO ASEAN (P2A), a network of universities and colleges in the ASEAN region, to organize the ASEAN - Korea tourism roundtable conference. The conference is scheduled to take place from July 2 to 4, bringing together policy makers from ministries, departments, and tourism sectors of ASEAN countries and Korea, business leaders, and leading experts to discuss and propose practical solutions to contribute to the recovery and sustainable development of the tourism industry in the post-pandemic context.
The conference focused on four strategic priorities: enhancing security and facilitating tourism activities; improving systems to enhance the tourist experience; training and developing human resources in the tourism industry; and promoting understanding and respect for cultural diversity among ASEAN countries and Korea.
The ASEAN-Korea Tourism Roundtable Project was launched in August 2024 within the framework of the comprehensive economic cooperation initiative between the governments of ASEAN countries and the Republic of Korea (AKFTA). The conference is held in rotation in each country for 3 years, the first conference was held in Da Nang (Vietnam), sponsored by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea and the ASEAN-Korea FTA Fund (AKFTA). The event contributed to affirming the position of Duy Tan University in the field of tourism education and research; at the same time, opening up opportunities for Vietnam, especially Da Nang city, to improve its position on the international tourism cooperation map.
