With the reading comprehension material extracted from the short story "Different Skies" by writer Nguyen Minh Chau, the material not only helps students to approach modern literature but also opens up the ability to receive profound human values. The text recreates the relationship between soldiers - Le and Son - from two different hometowns, who fought side by side during the war, now reunited in peacetime. Through that, the writer expresses a consistent idea: every sky, despite geographical and cultural differences, contributes to creating a sky of the Fatherland.
"From a professional perspective, I consider this a text that is simple in language, but contains emotional and ideological depth. The text has enough imagery, regional cultural material, the ability to suggest intertextuality and is rich in pedagogical potential in the new literature class," said Mr. Thai.
At the same time, the literature teacher above assessed that the social argument writing section had shifted from the requirement of "arguing about the issue" to "arguing about feelings".

Notably, teacher Thai commented that question 2 of the writing section (4 points) requires students to write an argumentative essay on the topic: "The sky of any homeland is the sky of the Fatherland", this is an open, interdisciplinary topic that requires systematic thinking.
According to Mr. Thai, in general, the 2025 high school graduation exam in literature shows a clear transformation: from testing knowledge to assessing capacity; from academic theory to connecting life and people; from single-line to interdisciplinary and intertextual integration.
"As a literature teacher, I consider this a test that is both differentiated and humane, and provides a good orientation for teaching and testing in the renovation period. If applied effectively, the test will not only be a measure of scores but also a stepping stone for students to enter life with a mindset of understanding themselves, understanding others, and loving the country with very real things," said the literature teacher.

The 2025 high school graduation literature exam is good but is it easy to get a high score?
Teacher Tran Thai said that this year's high school graduation literature score range will be quite good: 6.5 to 8 points.
Ms. Phan Thi My Hue, a literature teacher at Nguyen Khuyen Secondary and High School, Hiep Binh Ward, Ho Chi Minh City (new) assessed that the 2025 high school graduation literature exam was very good. Firstly, the exam met the goals of the high school exam, in line with the 2018 General Education Program. Secondly, regarding the core of a literature exam, which is humanity and the ability to evoke emotions in students, this year's exam really met this requirement.
"The material chosen for the reading comprehension section and also the general theme of the whole test is very suitable and really good, the questions are also very reasonable. Students can easily get an average score, but high scores will probably be few. However, with this test, we will find excellent writings, writings that come from the students' own thoughts, not from sample essays. That is what literature teachers and society expect. And finally, this year's test has integrated important events of the country in a very gentle and subtle way. And so, the test still ensures literary value but is not separate from the flow of the times", Ms. My Hue shared.
If the essay is longer than 600 words, will there be a deduction of points?
Teacher Tran Thai said that the essay requirement (4 points) for candidates is about 600 words, but for candidates who have the ability to write with abundant emotions, sometimes... the words overflow that boundary without them realizing it.
"In principle, if the question clearly requires "about 600 words", then writing more than that can be considered as not meeting the requirements. Depending on the exam board, teachers can be flexible, but usually points will be deducted for structure or presentation if the rambling distracts from the focus or makes the writing long-winded, repetitive, indulges in personal emotions and lacks persuasiveness. However, that does not mean that a long essay will be immediately rated low. If the essay is still logical, has depth, and good arguments, the grader will consider between keeping the spirit of the question and fairly assessing the student's writing ability," said Mr. Thai.
Official answers for 2025 high school graduation exams will be announced after July 5, 2025
The Ministry of Education and Training announced that up to now, the Ministry has not announced the official answers for any subject in the 2025 high school graduation exam.
According to the plan, the official answers (with suspension marks) of all exam subjects will be announced after July 5, 2025 on the Ministry of Education and Training's electronic information portal at: https://moet.gov.vn .
