'Revealing' the valedictorians entering grade 10 in Hanoi

According to statistics from the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, the top students entering grade 10 of both non-specialized high schools and specialized high schools this year have been revealed from exam score data.

The valedictorian admitted to grade 10 of a non-specialized public high school (with priority and incentive points) for the 2025-2026 school year is Be Ngoc Thuy Nhi, a 9A5 graduate of Van Ho Secondary School (Hai Ba Trung District) with a total admission score of 29.25, admitted to Viet Duc High School.

Thuy Nhi's exam scores are as follows: literature 8.75; math 9.5; foreign language 10; priority score 1.

In addition, statistics from the Hanoi Department of Education and Training show that there are 8 valedictorians admitted to non-specialized high schools with a score of 28.75 but no priority or incentive points.

In the specialized high school block, there are 13 candidates who are valedictorians of specialized classes corresponding to 13 different specialized subjects, of which 11 candidates were admitted to Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted, one candidate was valedictorian of literature major at Nguyen Hue High School for the Gifted, and one candidate was valedictorian of Korean major at Chu Van An High School for the Gifted.

According to the plan, from July 7 to 9, schools will return application documents and admission exam results for grade 10 for the 2025-2026 school year to students.

Before July 10, schools will receive appeal applications, submit appeal applications and lists of students to the Department of Education and Training.

From July 10 to 12, high schools, vocationaleducation - continuing education centers, and vocational education institutions will organize admission confirmation.

This year, for the first time, Hanoi announced the exam scores at the same time as the admission scores for grade 10. This requires great efforts from the Hanoi Department of Education and Training to help students and parents no longer nervously guess the admission scores after a few days of knowing the exam scores like in previous years.
