Candidates who are admitted to their first choice will not be considered for the following choices. The admission scores for the second and third choices must be 1 and 2 points higher than their first choice. When the admission score is lowered, public high schools are allowed to admit students with their second and third choices who meet the admission requirements.

It is expected that by July 8 at the latest, schools will receive the exam result reports to issue to students. Students who wish to have their exam results reviewed must submit their applications from July 4-10.

Candidates will receive the review results by July 28 at the latest.

Students who are admitted will complete the admission procedures online or in person from July 10-12. Schools that do not meet their enrollment quota will meet to review additional admission scores on July 17.

The 10th grade entrance exam in Hanoi this year took place over two days, June 7-8. This was the most crowded 10th grade exam in the country, with nearly 103,000 candidates participating, completing the three subjects of Math, Literature and Foreign Language (mostly English), to get the score to enter non-specialized public 10th grade. Of which, about 13,000 candidates registered to take the additional specialized subject exam on June 9.
