According to information from the Department of Agriculture and Environment of An Giang province, on July 6, fresh rice prices held to increase slightly for some key varieties, while the overall market remained quite gloomy. The common increase fluctuated around 100 VND/kg compared to the middle of last week.

specifically, IR 50404 (fresh) is being purchased at a price of 5,500 to 5,600 VND/kg, an increase of 100 VND compared to before. OM 5451 also has a slight increase in price, reaching 5,900 to 6,000 VND/kg. In particular, OM 18 (fresh) - a high-quality rice variety - continues to lead in price with a price of 6,100 to 6,200 VND/kg.

Other varieties such as Dai Thom 8, OM 308 and Nang Hoa 9 still maintain stable prices, commonly in the range of 5,600 - 6,100 VND/kg.

In some provinces such as Dong Thap, Hau Giang (new Can Tho), Kien Giang (new An Giang), etc., the rice market is slow due to limited harvests, traders only buy in small quantities. Although prices do not fluctuate much, purchasing power remains low, reflecting the caution of businesses in the face of fluctuations in raw rice prices on the market.

Unlike the upward trend of fresh rice, the price of raw rice today recorded a slight differentiation, when some types decreased by about 100 VND/kg. According to information from the Department of Agriculture and Environment of An Giang province, new OM 18 rice is currently sold in the range of 9,400 - 9,500 VND/kg, down 100 VND compared to the previous day.

Meanwhile, other raw rice types such as:

• IR 504: 8,100 – 8,200 VND/kg
• CL 555: 8,300 – 8,400 VND/kg
• OM 380: 7,850 – 7,900 VND/kg
• OM 5451: 9,100 – 9,150 VND/kg

Still keep the price stable, no significant fluctuations.

As for finished rice, prices have not changed compared to yesterday. Finished OM 380 rice remains at VND8,800 to VND9,000 per kg, while finished IR 504 rice is at VND9,500 to VND9,700 per kg, indicating that demand from processing warehouses remains quite stable, with no sudden increase.

In localities such as Lap Vo, Sa Dec (Dong Thap) and An Cu (former Tien Giang), the amount of rice in warehouses is limited, buying and selling activities are slow and only carried out in small amounts, reflecting the situation of supply and demand being in balance and somewhat in tension.

According to a report from the Vietnam Food Association (VFA), the export price of our country's remains rice stable compared to last weekend. specifically, the prices of different types of rice are as follows:

• 5% broken white rice: 382 USD/ton
• 25% broken rice: 357 USD/ton
• 100% broken rice: 317 USD/ton

Currently, the export market has not changed significantly because most of the contracts have been completed in advance. In addition, the new crop in some Asian countries is expected to start providing more supplies in August, causing importers to temporarily stand on the sidelines and wait for price adjustments.

Domestically, export enterprises are also cautious and have not yet made strong purchases. This situation contributes to keeping raw rice prices stable and transactions at warehouses are quite slow.

However, according to business people, if demand from the Chinese or African markets increases again at the end of July, Vietnam's rice export prices may tend to increase slightly.

There have been no new price fluctuations in the export market, but businesses are still closely monitoring crop developments in competing countries such as India, Thailand and Cambodia – direct competitors of Vietnamese rice in the international market.
