The live hog market in the Northern region on July 3rd generally remained stable. Most provinces and cities such as Hanoi , Hung Yen, Bac Ninh, Tuyen Quang, Lang Son, Lao Cai, Dien Bien, and Phu Tho are maintaining the price of 68,000 VND/kg, no adjustment compared to yesterday.

However, Nghe An became the only province in the North to continue to slightly reduce prices, from VND68,000 to VND67,000/kg, marking the second consecutive decrease within three days. This development partly reflects that demand in the region has not improved, although supply is no longer as abundant as before.

Currently, the price of live pigs in the North commonly fluctuates from 67,000 - 69,000 VND/kg, maintaining a stable price range but still not reaching the expectation of farmers at the mark of 70,000 VND/kg.

In the Central region, the live hog market today has almost no significant fluctuations. Provinces such as Thanh Hoa, Ha Tinh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien Hue, Da Nang , Quang Ngai, Quang Nam, Khanh Hoa... all kept the same price as yesterday, fluctuating between 67,000 - 68,000 VND/kg.

Gia Lai continues to be the locality with the lowest price in the country, currently at only 66,000 VND/kg. Although the price has not decreased further, the difference compared to neighboring provinces is still significant, making it difficult for farmers here to compete.

The market's "sideways" state across the board helps farmers feel more stable, but the current price is still below the threshold for sustainable profitability, especially in the context of animal feed costs showing no clear signs of cooling down.

The Southern region continues to play the role of the most stable price region in the country. Most provinces and cities such as Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai, Tay Ninh, Long An, Dong Thap, Can Tho, Soc Trang, Bac Lieu... maintain the common price from 69,000 - 71,000 VND/kg, no adjustment compared to July 2.

However, Vinh Long recorded a slight decrease of VND1,000/kg, from VND70,000 to VND69,000/kg, showing a local adjustment signal in the region. However, this decrease was not enough to affect the general trend of the whole region.

Notably, Ca Mau still maintains the highest price in the Southwest region at 71,000 VND/kg, showing that domestic purchasing power here is still good, thanks to stable consumption demand and not being affected by the surrounding price depressions.
