The price of live pigs today (July 4) continues to decrease in many provinces in the Central Highlands and the South. Meanwhile, the price in the North remains stable. Currently, the common purchase price across the country ranges from 65,000 VND/kg to 70,000 VND/kg.

Pig price today in the North is stable

In the Northern region, the price of live pigs today did not record any new fluctuations compared to the previous day.

Specifically, the provinces of Tuyen Quang, Cao Bang, Thai Nguyen, Lang Son, Quang Ninh, Bac Ninh, Hanoi , Ninh Binh, Lao Cai, Lai Chau, Dien Bien, Phu Tho, Son La and Hung Yen continue to purchase pigs at a price of 68,000 VND/kg. Hai Phong is still the locality with the highest price in the region at 69,000 VND/kg.

Pig prices in the North today continue to fluctuate around 68,000 - 69,000 VND/kg.

Pig price today in the Central Highlands - Central region slightly decreased in some places

In the Central Highlands region, the price of live pigs today continued to decrease slightly in some provinces and cities.

Specifically, pork prices in Thanh Hoa and Quang Tri both decreased by VND 1,000/kg, currently being purchased at VND 67,000/kg.
Live pigs in Gia Lai also decreased by 1,000 VND/kg, bringing the price down to 65,000 VND/kg - the lowest level in the region.
Lam Dong recorded a decrease of 1,000 VND/kg, currently purchasing pigs at 69,000 VND/kg.

The remaining localities such as Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Hue, Da Nang, Quang Ngai and Dak Lak kept the price at 67,000 VND/kg. Khanh Hoa maintained it at 68,000 VND/kg.

Currently, the price of live pigs in the Central Highlands fluctuates at 65,000 - 69,000 VND/kg.

Pig price in the South continues to decrease today

In the Southern region, the price of live pigs today continued to decrease by 1,000 VND/kg in some localities.

Specifically, the price of pork in Tay Ninh decreased by VND1,000/kg, down to VND69,000/kg; Dong Thap and Vinh Long also recorded a decrease of VND1,000/kg, down to VND68,000/kg. Ca Mau brought the purchase price down to VND70,000/kg after decreasing by VND1,000/kg.

Meanwhile, localities such as Dong Nai and Ho Chi Minh City continue to buy live pigs at 70,000 VND/kg. An Giang and Can Tho maintain the price of 69,000 VND/kg.

Currently, the price of live pigs in the Southern region today fluctuates from 68,000 VND/kg to 70,000 VND/kg.

On July 4, the price of live pigs continued to decrease slightly by VND1,000/kg in many localities in the Central Highlands and the South. Meanwhile, the price in the North remained the same as the previous day. Currently, the highest price for live pigs was recorded in Dong Nai, Ca Mau and Ho Chi Minh City at VND70,000/kg.

Expanding livestock management model using digital technology

According to Vietnam Livestock Magazine , on July 2, the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations (VUSTA) in collaboration with the Vietnam Livestock Association and the Phu Tho Province Union of Science and Technology Associations organized a scientific workshop on "Disseminating and applying digital models in management at livestock facilities" in Phu Tho.

Attending and chairing the workshop were Associate Professor Dr. Pham Quang Thao - Vice President of the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations, along with the participation of nearly 90 experts, intellectuals, scientists, managers and businesses.

At the workshop, experts, managers and businesses shared many presentations revolving around digital transformation in livestock farming such as: applying digital technology to feed production, DTA pig herd management software, the need for digital transformation in livestock farm management according to the policy of restructuring the agricultural sector... This is considered an inevitable trend today.

With suggestions and sharing of experiences in livestock farming applying digital technology, it will be an important basis for the Provincial Union of Science and Technology Associations to advise and propose to the Provincial Party Committee and Provincial People's Committee breakthrough solutions to create many positive changes in the implementation of science and technology applications and digital transformation in livestock farming, contributing to the successful implementation of digital transformation of the provincial agricultural sector in the new development space in the coming time.
