Pig price today June 7, 2025 in the South
In the Southern region, live pig prices remain largely unchanged today, with only An Giang recording a slight decrease of VND1,000/kg, from VND69,000 to VND68,000/kg, reflecting a slight decline in consumption demand in this locality.
Provinces such as Ho Chi Minh City, Ca Mau, and Dong Nai continue to maintain the highest price in the region, at VND70,000/kg. Meanwhile, localities such as Ben Tre, Long An, Dong Thap, and Vinh Long trade around VND68,000 - 69,000/kg.
Despite a small adjustment in An Giang, the general price level in the South remains high compared to many other regions in the country. Experts say that the closed livestock supply chain system in many southern provinces plays an important role in helping the market stabilize, despite the lack of signs of strong increase in purchasing power.

specific, from May 28 to now, the disease has appeared in 21 villages in 6 communes, including Kim Phu, Tan Thanh, Phong Nha, Quang Trach, Tan Gianh and Dong Le. In total, 451 pigs with a total weight of nearly 28 tons had to be destroyed. Mr. Tran Cong Tam, Head of the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine of Quang Tri province, said that immediately after detecting the outbreaks, the authorities coordinated with local authorities to announce the outbreak, and at the same time sprayed disinfectants in affected areas and high-risk areas to limit the spread of the disease.
In addition, the Department has advised people to regularly update information on the epidemic situation, immediately report cases of pigs showing signs of illness or unusual deaths, and not to arbitrarily treat or sell off sick pigs. Disease prevention measures at small-scale livestock farms are also required to be strictly implemented.
In particular, Livestock and Veterinary Stations in the area have been directed to strengthen monitoring, inspection and guidance for people to apply biosafety measures. Farmers are advised not to increase or restore herds without ensuring safety conditions to minimize economic losses caused by epidemics.
