Combining studying and following Uncle Ho with carrying out political tasks

Stationed in the city, performing training and combat readiness tasks, protecting important and dangerous targets; the complex and high-intensity nature of special forces training, the difficult lives of officers and soldiers... are factors affecting the thoughts and feelings of officers and soldiers of the 1st Special Forces Brigade. However, the Party Committee, Brigade commanders and Party committees and commanders at all levels have always proactively grasped and implemented Directive No. 05-CT/TW of the Politburo on studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style with many vivid, rich and effective contents and forms, creating a strong driving force to enhance the overall strength of the heroic Special Forces Brigade.

Lieutenant Colonel Dam Dinh Dong, Party Secretary and Political Commissar of the Brigade, affirmed: “We determine that studying and following the ideology, morality and style of President Ho Chi Minh must be closely linked to the implementation of political tasks; must be the driving force to improve the overall strength, qualifications and combat readiness of the unit; and become the criteria for evaluating cadres, party members, non-commissioned officers and soldiers.”

In that spirit, the Brigade Party Committee has included the content of studying and following Uncle Ho in thematic resolutions, integrating it into regular resolutions, and specific action plans, closely related to the unit's characteristics. At the same time, the content of studying has been integrated into the Emulation Movement to Win and the major campaigns of the Army. 100% of Party committees and Party cells have developed implementation plans, and 100% of cadres, Party members, Youth Union members, and soldiers have registered to commit to studying and following Uncle Ho through specific actions, associated with assigned duties and tasks.

The highlight in implementing Directive No. 05 in the Special Forces Brigade 1 is the creative models, diverse forms of propaganda, education, learning and following Uncle Ho. The internal radio system regularly broadcasts the column "Uncle Ho's teachings on this day in history", "Special Forces News 24/7", combining current events and political education. On bulletin boards, billboards, slogans, learning and following Uncle Ho's content are updated regularly, closely and practically. The grassroots Youth Union and the inter-branch Youth Union regularly maintain the forum "Youth of the Brigade following Uncle Ho's teachings", storytelling contests, seminars, thematic activities... creating a vibrant political and cultural space, widely spreading the spirit of learning and following Uncle Ho.

Lieutenant Colonel Tran Kim Nam, Brigade Commander of the 1st Special Forces Brigade, shared: "Thanks to maintaining these models, officers and soldiers better understand Uncle Ho's teachings, self-reflect, self-correct limitations and dangers, turn Uncle Ho's teachings into voluntary actions in training, work, combat readiness, discipline training...".

Along with propaganda, the Brigade also launched emulation movements associated with studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style, such as: "Do a good deed every day following Uncle Ho's words", "The youth of the Brigade strive to be worthy of Uncle Ho's soldiers", "Don't say difficult, don't say no, don't say yes but don't do"... The models do not stop at slogans but penetrate deeply into the awareness and actions of officers and soldiers, throughout the training and combat readiness tasks to disaster prevention and control, research on initiatives, technical improvements... with many advanced examples: Senior Lieutenant Bui Duc Manh, Deputy Captain of Company 11 proposed and completed many initiatives to improve special forces training equipment; Major Luyen Van Ngoi, Team Leader of Team 7 and Captain Nguyen Anh Duc, Political Commissar of Team 7... have many creative ways of doing things, contributing to improving the quality of training and mobility and combat readiness; Senior Lieutenant Nguyen Thi Hai Ninh, a doctor of the 24th Military Medical Company, always overcomes all difficulties, regularly participates in the Brigade and Corps teams in competitions and sports events, and excellently completes all assigned tasks.

Setting an example - a measure to spread learning and following Uncle Ho

The decision factor for the success of studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style at the 1st Special Forces Brigade is the example set by cadres and party members, especially cadres in charge at all levels. With the motto "The superiors set an exemplary example, the subordinates actively follow", comrades in the Party Committee and Brigade commanders always take the lead in carrying out tasks, saying what they do, closely following soldiers on the training ground and training grounds. Young cadres, union members and soldiers, from the example of the commander, have voluntarily strived to excellently complete their tasks.

Setting an example is also concretized through self-criticism and criticism in party activities, periodic reviews... helping cadres and party members clearly recognize limitations and disadvantages, and proposes measures to overcome them. Along with that, inspection and supervision work is maintained closely and regularly. Every year, the Brigade Party Committee organizes a preliminary and final review, draws experience, and gradually rewards heroic collectives and individuals. The Brigade has dozens of collectives and individuals who have been commended by the Ministry of National Defense and the Service for their achievements in studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality, and style.

Speaking to us, Lieutenant Colonel Dam Dinh Dong emphasized: “Studying and following Uncle Ho has become a voluntary and disciplined activity throughout the unit; contributing to improving the leadership capacity and fighting strength of the Party organization; improving the political mettle, moral qualities, especially the sense of responsibility and self-awareness of cadres, Party members and soldiers; motivating the Brigade to successfully and excellently complete the assigned political tasks.
