The 2nd “Flavors of Peru” culinary week in Asia (“Flavors of Peru”- II Edition Asia) was held from July 9-13 in Hanoi to celebrate the 204th anniversary of the National Day of the Republic of Peru.

“Taste of Peru” is part of an effort to strengthen the friendly relationship between Peru and Vietnam through the language of cuisine, while also serving as a stepping stone to promote cultural exchange and introduce the rich culinary heritage of this South American country to international friends.

Following the success of the first event in Bangkok (Thailand), this event in Hanoi introduces the richness and diversity of Peruvian cuisine through the talents of chefs from the “Land of the Incas” who are currently operating and working at famous restaurants across Asia.

During this Food Week, diners will have the opportunity to enjoy many traditional Peruvian specialties such as ceviche (fish salad), pollo a la brasa (grilled chicken), anticuchos (grilled meat skewers), causa Limeña (stuffed potato cakes), or lomo saltado (Peruvian-style stir-fried beef).

Along with that are special dishes such as aji de gallina (chicken with yellow chili sauce), picarones (molasses donuts), suspiro a la Limeña (egg ice cream), chicha morada (purple corn water), and maca latte (maca milk powder coffee)...

At the opening ceremony of the event held on the evening of July 9 in Hanoi, Peruvian Ambassador to Vietnam Patricia Ráez Portocarrero said that "Taste of Peru" is a window to the identity and cultural richness of this South American country, while strengthening the close relationship between the people of the two countries through the language of cuisine.
