This is the policy that the Ministry of Education and Training is including in the draft Decree regulating scholarship and living expenses policies to attract and support capable learners to study key fields, contributing to promoting innovation, improving the quality of human resources, and increasing national competitiveness.
Accordingly, undergraduates, graduate students and researchers studying in basic sciences , key engineering and strategic technologies will be granted scholarships from 50% to 100% of tuition fees, based on academic results.
In addition, students are also supported with living expenses of 3.63 million VND/month during their time at the training facility.
Mechanical engineering is one of the expected strategic technology sectors to be granted scholarships and living expenses.

Regarding the list of strategic technology sectors eligible for scholarship support policies, the Draft Decree currently offers two options.
Specifically, option 1 includes biotechnology, nanotechnology, space technology, environmental technology and renewable energy technology.
Option 2 includes the following industries: information technology; software engineering, electrical and electronic engineering technology; automation engineering technology; biotechnology; materials technology; nanotechnology; information technology - information security; environmental technology; food technology; control and automation technology, multimedia communications technology; biomedical technology; machine manufacturing technology; information technology - data science.
It is known that in Decision No. 1131 dated June 12 of the Prime Minister promulgating the List of strategic technologies and strategic technology products, there are a total of 11 strategic technology groups.
Specifically, the technology group on artificial intelligence, digital copy, virtual reality/augmented reality; the technology group on cloud computing, quantum, big data; the technology group on blockchain; the technology group on next-generation mobile networks (5G/6G); the technology group on robotics and automation; the technology group on semiconductor chips; the technology group on advanced biomedical technology; the technology group on energy, advanced materials; the technology group on rare earth, ocean, underground; the technology group on cybersecurity; the technology group on aviation - space.
