At around 9am on July 8, a fire broke out at house number 1084, Do Muoi Street, Tan Thoi Hiep Ward, Ho Chi Minh City. This house has about 10 rooms for rent.

At the time of the fire, all the tenants in the house were at work, so no one was trapped inside. People nearby used fire extinguishers and water hoses to put out the fire, but could not control it.

The Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department of Ho Chi Minh City Police mobilized vehicles and dozens of officers and soldiers to the scene to put out the fire. Police teams moved water cannons to many locations to isolate the fire, preventing it from spreading.

The row of boarding houses is located on the street frontage, so the fire caused traffic congestion on Do Muoi Street. Traffic police and ward police regulated and diverted traffic to serve the firefighting work. After more than 1 hour of firefighting, the fire was under control but smoke was still smoldering inside.
Tan Thoi Hiep Ward Police coordinated with relevant units to examine the scene, estimate the damage and take witness statements to clarify the cause. At the scene, 5 rented rooms with an area of about 50 square meters were burned along with many properties stored inside.
