By the morning of September 3, a representative of the Vinh Hao – Phan Thiet expressway management unit said that the sand landslide incident on this section of the road had been resolved.
Previously, at around 10:10 p.m. on September 2, prolonged heavy rain caused a landslide on the sandbank above the residential area, causing sand to flow down the Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet highway, through Ham Liem commune, Lam Dong province.

Rainwater and sand flooded a section of about 100m, 50cm thick, covering the entire road surface.
At this time, many cars had difficulty moving, forced to reduce speed to maximum, or even stop.
Immediately after receiving the information, the Traffic Police force was present at the scene to coordinate handling.

To ensure safety, vehicles traveling from the North to the South have been instructed to temporarily move off the highway at Ma Lam intersection, follow National Highway 28 and then National Highway 1 to continue their journey.
By around 1am on September 3, the cleanup work on the highway was completed. Currently, the affected section of the highway is open again.
