Brilliant “Vietnam Night” – “The Flow of Essence”

On the evening of September 3, the art program "Vietnam Night - Flow of Essence" took place in Ho Chi Minh City, opening the 19th Ho Chi Minh City International Travel Fair - ITE HCMC 2025.

In his opening speech, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Duoc said that the message "Flow of Essence" not only evokes the image of the Mekong River, the source of culture and history, but is also a metaphor for the inheritance, convergence and spread of sustainable values.

The Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee affirmed: Ho Chi Minh City is gradually becoming a modern megacity, a dynamic economic and financial center, and at the same time an attractive and unique tourist destination. The city has a long history, rich nature with mountains, forests, rivers, seas, the first Ramsar sea and island site in Vietnam and a mangrove biosphere reserve recognized by UNESCO.

"We hope that every moment you experience here will leave an unforgettable impression, like a promise to return, to further bond with this city," emphasized Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Duoc.

The art night brought many special performances: shadow dance “Welcome Ho Chi Minh City”, “Mashup Hello Ho Chi Minh City” sent warm greetings to international friends; short film Ho Chi Minh City – the flow of quintessence introduced the unique features of culture, festivals, cuisine and the city’s rise in the new era; the performance “Cultural quintessence” recreated heritage through reformed opera, classical drama, martial arts music; the collection of ao dai “Quintessence of heritage” inspired by traditional craft villages…

ITE HCMC 2025 takes place from September 4 to 6 at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC), continuing its 19-year journey of development, affirming its role as the leading international tourism promotion platform in the Mekong region and Asia. With the theme “Sustainable Tourism – Vibrant Experiences”, the fair aims to develop green, responsible tourism products, bringing impressive experiences to international visitors and partners.

ITE HCMC 2025 is accompanied by Vietnam Airlines, Saigontourist Group, SECC, Thiskyhall, Sofitel Saigon Plaza and many domestic and foreign businesses, airlines, and hotels.

Ho Chi Minh City aims for Top 100 best cities in the world

On the same afternoon, in Ho Chi Minh City, the 12th General Assembly of the Tourism Promotion Organization for Global Cities (TPO) - 2025 opened. This is the first time Vietnam has hosted the TPO General Assembly, within the framework of ITE HCMC 2025.

According to Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Duoc, Ho Chi Minh City has always been proactive in promoting cooperation, connection and affirming its position as a regional tourism center. In particular, from July 1, Ho Chi Minh City officially expanded its administrative boundaries with the merger of Binh Duong and Ba Ria - Vung Tau, aiming to become an international megacity.

Among the five pillars of development, tourism and cultural industry are identified as key sectors, with outstanding advantages from high-end marine eco-tourism and resort clusters in Vung Tau - Can Gio - Ho Tram - Long Hai - Con Dao.

The Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee emphasized that by 2045 - the 100th anniversary of National Day, Ho Chi Minh City will be among the top 100 best cities in the world, an economic, financial and tourism center in Asia, an attractive global destination with high quality of life, unique and sustainable development.

With the theme “Shaping the Future of Tourism: Towards Digital and Green Transformation”, the 2025 TPO General Assembly considers digital transformation and green transformation as two strategic pillars to ensure sustainable development. This is also an orientation in line with the 17 sustainable development goals of the United Nations.

Digital transformation strengthens connectivity and enhances experiences, while green transformation ensures sustainable and inclusive growth. Combining the two, tourism will become a powerful driver of prosperity and resilience for member cities, said Ms. Kang Da-eun, Secretary General of TPO.
