With the goal of becoming one of the country's developed science and technology centers, Da Nang city identifies science, technology, innovation and digital transformation as important tools, playing a driving role in the process of socio -economic development.

The city has implemented many solutions on building policy mechanisms, investing in infrastructure development, implementing scientific research and technology development programs, enhancing connectivity, mobilizing resources, supporting businesses in technological innovation, developing intellectual property, building an innovative startup ecosystem, promoting domestic and international cooperation, etc.

Da Nang has concretized the Central's Strategies, Programs, and Projects and issued mechanisms and policies for developing science, technology, innovation; supporting the development of intellectual property... In particular, Resolution No. 35/2024/NQ-HDND dated July 30, 2024 promulgating the Policy to support technological innovation in the area is a specific policy of the city.

In particular, to remove difficulties, obstacles and bottlenecks in the current period, the city has proposed specific and outstanding mechanisms and policies in the fields of science, technology and innovation in Resolution 136/2024/QH15 of the National Assembly.

Da Nang focuses on 7 policy groups including: Exemption from personal income tax, exemption from corporate income tax; support for the development of innovative start-up projects; regulations on controlled testing of new technology solutions; regulations on investment, management, exploitation and handling of information technology, science and technology infrastructure assets serving innovative start-ups and the development of semiconductor microchips.

Deciding to "move" to Da Nang after learning about Resolution 53 of the City People's Council on supporting innovative start-up activities, Mr. Ho Viet Hai (born in 1985) brought Alternō Company with the "sand battery" start-up project to Da Nang with the desire to contribute to his hometown.

Da Nang has formed a startup ecosystem with strong connections. The city has 3 centers to support startups and innovation; 12 incubators; 3 invention spaces; 8 co-working spaces; 3 international innovation spaces; 6 startup investment funds. Along with that is the active participation of state agencies, research institutes, universities, experts, scientists, startup consultants, angel investors, and the startup community.

It can be said that the unique, outstanding, and unprecedented mechanisms and policies have created a breakthrough in the process of developing the city's innovative startup ecosystem; contributing to the goal of building Da Nang into one of the major socio-economic centers of the country and Southeast Asia with the role of a center for startups and innovation according to Resolution No. 43-NQ/TW.

Key projects include: Artificial Intelligence Lab; Lab-Fab, a small-scale manufacturing laboratory for advanced semiconductor packaging technology; Da Nang Innovation Space; Investment in machinery and equipment for the Da Nang Biotechnology Center; Investment in equipment and LAN network renovation for commune, ward, and special zone headquarters after the merger.
