The Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Finance said that the world oil market during the management period from August 28 to September 3 was affected by many factors, including information about the upcoming OPEC+ meeting, the devaluation of the USD and ongoing geopolitical tensions. These factors have caused world oil prices to fluctuate mainly in an upward trend.
The average price of finished products in the world in the past period continued to increase. The price of RON 92 gasoline increased by 0.87%, while RON 95 gasoline increased by 0.51%. Oil products also recorded corresponding increases.
From 3:00 p.m. on September 4, gasoline prices continued to increase after two consecutive previous increases.
Based on that development, the regulatory agency decided to adjust domestic retail prices to reflect the world trend. During this period, the regulatory agency continued not to set aside or use the Petroleum Price Stabilization Fund for all products.
Accordingly, E5 RON 92 gasoline increased by 80 VND/liter to 19,851 VND/liter, RON 95 II gasoline increased by 76 VND/liter to a new price of 20,439 VND/liter. Diesel and fuel oil both increased by 116 VND/kg, while kerosene increased by 89 VND to new prices of 18,473 VND/liter, 15,376 VND/kg and 18,314 VND/liter.
After this adjustment, the price difference between E5 RON 92 biofuel and RON 95 mineral gasoline is 588 VND/liter, continuing to maintain a reasonable price to encourage people to use biofuel.
Thus, domestic gasoline prices have increased for three consecutive sessions. Since the beginning of the year, RON 95 gasoline has increased 21 times and decreased 16 times. Diesel has increased 18 times, decreased 17 times and remained unchanged once.
During the operating period on August 28, all types of gasoline and oil also increased in price from 144 VND - 452 VND/liter or kg depending on the type.
