Ben Tre: Actively supporting start-up products to achieve OCOP certification

Ms. Nguyen Thanh Hien, Chairwoman of the Women's Union of Chau Thanh District, Ben Tre Province, said that in the first quarter of 2024, the Union will continue to implement many activities to support members and women starting businesses. In particular, actively supporting start-up products to achieve OCOP certification.

Accordingly, the Women's Union of Chau Thanh district has coordinated with the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to support 6 start-up products certified as 3-star OCOP. Thereby, the total number of products certified as 3-star and 4-star OCOP in the area has increased to 13 products.

The start-up products certified with 3-star OCOP in the first quarter of 2024 include: Tinh Nguyen coconut oil model (Thanh Trieu commune), Ngoc Vinh clean pickle model (Phu An Hoa commune), vegetarian spring roll model of Ms. Le Thi My Dung, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Van (Phu Duc commune), honey-dried kumquat model of Ms. Tran Thi Thu Hong (Phu Duc commune), Ngoc Kim Ngan banana candy model of Ms. Ho Ngoc Kim Ngan (Phu Duc commune).

According to Ms. Hien, in addition to supporting start-up products to achieve OCOP certification, the Women's Union from the district to communes and towns organized propaganda for the Dong Khoi and start-up movements through branch meetings, union groups, clubs, groups, and self-managed people's groups with 135 meetings attended by more than 3,200 members and women.

In addition, training on start-ups and innovation based on e-commerce business models was provided to 22 members and women. At the same time, there were many forms of support, connection, introduction and promotion of start-up products of club members and women starting businesses in the area.
