Giving gifts and scholarships to Lao Cai students on the occasion of the new school year

On the occasion of the opening of the new school year 2025 - 2026, units and organizations presented many gifts and scholarships to disadvantaged students in Lao Cai province.

* Provided financial support to 70 students under the project "Army officers and soldiers help children go to school"

On September 5, on the occasion of the opening of the new school year 2025 - 2026, border posts under the Lao Cai Provincial Border Guard Command organized a ceremony to provide financial support to students under the project "Army officers and soldiers help children go to school".

Border guards provide financial support to students.

Accordingly, the border guards have provided financial support to 70 school-age students (from grades 1 to 12) who are ethnic minorities living in 9 border communes and wards with difficult circumstances; children of prestigious people, people who actively participate in border protection among ethnic minorities.

The support level is 23.9 million VND/child/year.

In addition, border guards also mobilized social resources and coordinated to donate many school supplies and daily necessities to support students entering the new school year (photo below).

It is known that in addition to implementing the project "Army officers and soldiers help children go to school", border posts on the Lao Cai border are effectively implementing the model "Adopted children of border posts" to support 23 children (support level of 3 million VND/child/month) and the program "Helping children go to school" to support 57 children (support level of 500,000 VND/child/month).

Thereby, helping students in border areas have the conditions to continue going to school, make efforts to study, practice and build their future.

*Awarding 10 scholarships to students of A Mu Sung commune

On the occasion of the opening of the new school year 2025 - 2026 and the 80th anniversary of the tradition of the Vietnamese Education sector (1945 - 2025), Economic - Defense Group 345 (Military Region 2) coordinated with local authorities and schools in the area to organize the scholarship program "Helping you go to school".

Leaders of Economic - Defense Group 345 (Military Region 2) presented scholarships and gifts to students in difficult circumstances.

Accordingly, 10 scholarships with a total value of 74 million VND were handed over to parents and students with difficult circumstances at Nam Chac Primary and Secondary Ethnic Minority School and A Mu Sung Primary and Secondary Ethnic Minority School, A Mu Sung Commune, Lao Cai Province. This is a practical source of encouragement, helping the students to confidently go to school and continue their learning journey.

The program not only demonstrates the concern and responsibility of Economic - Defense Group 345 in social security work, but also demonstrates the spirit of companionship and solidarity between the unit and local authorities and educational institutions in disadvantaged areas. At the same time, it affirms the role of a solid support, together with the locality to take care of future generations, contributing to improving the quality of education and sustainable development of border areas.

*Giving 1,000 gifts to students in Gia Phu commune:

On September 5, 2025, the People's Committee of Gia Phu Commune (Lao Cai Province) coordinated with the volunteer group "Nesty and Ngoc Trinh" and the Ho Chi Minh City Police Newspaper to organize a gift-giving program for students in difficult circumstances in the commune.

The program awarded 1,000 gifts worth a total of 1.2 billion VND (each gift included a jacket, sandals, milk, candy and 500,000 VND) to students at 12 schools in Gia Phu commune.

The gift-giving ceremony took place in a joyful and warm atmosphere at two school clusters: cluster 1 includes 9 schools in Gia Phu and the old Thong Nhat communes; cluster 2 includes Xuan Giao Kindergarten, Primary and Secondary School. This is a meaningful volunteer activity, adding motivation for students in the highlands to enter the new school year.
