Officers of Tam Chung Border Guard Station give trees and seedlings to households in On village.
Identifying that helping local people to improve their lives is an extremely important political task, in recent years, Pu Nhi Border Guard Station has implemented models of production development, sustainable poverty reduction, and new rural construction. Accordingly, the unit assigned officers and soldiers to be in charge of households to "eat, live, and work together" with the people in the villages. At the same time, select households with difficult circumstances to participate in the models. The unit also coordinated with Pu Nhi and Nhi Son communes to provide guidance on livestock and crop farming techniques, support with seeds, plants, fertilizers, and initial animal feed for households. Typically, in the model of "Concentrated Mong vegetable cultivation" in Pu Quan village, the unit instructed people on techniques for land preparation, planting, care, and harvesting. Currently, the model has been replicated throughout the villages in Pu Nhi commune. Or the model of "Pilot planting of turmeric and Thai jackfruit" in Com and Pha Den villages, the unit supported seeds, fertilizers and directly guided households in planting and caring for them. Over time, the plants of the model grew well and were harvested. There is also the model of "Raising black pigs, colored chickens and ducks", with 4,000 colored chickens supported by the unit to 150 households in the two communes of Pu Nhi and Nhi Son for pilot raising... In just a short time, the production models of Pu Nhi Border Guard Station have been replicated throughout the two communes of Pu Nhi and Nhi Son and people have seen the economic efficiency so they have enthusiastically participated.
When night falls, the road leading to On village, Tam Chung commune is lit up under the street lights. That is the result of the "Border Bright Village" model deployed by officers and soldiers of Tam Chung Border Post. Major Trinh Dinh Duyen, Deputy Political Commissar of Tam Chung Border Post, said: "The unit was assigned by the Border Guard Command to deploy the construction of the "Border Bright Village" model in On village. In line with the assigned task, the unit coordinated with Tam Chung commune to mobilize businesses and philanthropists to support money and conduct surveys to build welcome gates, poles and high-capacity solar lights. At the same time, mobilized officers and soldiers to contribute working days with people to pour concrete poles, install and complete 15 poles and 500W solar lights along both sides of On village road".
In addition, every year, the unit proactively develops a plan to support trees and seedlings to create livelihoods for the people of On village. At the same time, officers and soldiers are regularly sent to households in charge to help and guide them on farming and livestock raising techniques, in order to improve the efficiency of agricultural production. Accordingly, from the beginning of 2025 to now, the unit has given 200 black hybrid fighting chickens to 5 households; 200 geese and 300 ducks to 4 households. Tam Chung Border Guard Station has also mobilized benefactors to donate money and mobilized officers and soldiers to contribute working days to build a welcome gate, pour 2km of concrete road to On 2 point. Coordinate with local authorities, families, and schools to sponsor 5 students.
The model of “Bright Border Areas” at Tam Chung Border Post or the models of helping people develop the economy of Pu Nhi Border Post have brought practical benefits to the local people where the unit is stationed. Thereby, not only changing the mindset and awareness of the people about production development, transforming the structure of crops and livestock, but the units also build a beautiful image of the “green uniform” soldier in the hearts of the local people.
