Resolution 71 adds motivation for teachers to dedicate and stick with their profession

The Politburo has just issued Resolution No. 71-NQ/TW on breakthroughs in education and training development. In the process of national development, our Party and State always consider education and training, along with science and technology, as the top national policy. Many major policies and guidelines have been issued, promoting innovation and strong development of education and training.

From a grassroots perspective, teacher Phung Thi Lan - Vice Principal of Hoa Mi Kindergarten (Hoang Liet Ward, Hanoi) said that Resolution 71 was issued at the right time and has a high orientation to help the country's education sector develop in a breakthrough in the new era of the nation. The issue of the regime for teachers and kindergarten staff has been mentioned more clearly.

Resolution No. 71-NQ/TW clearly states: There are special and outstanding preferential policies for teachers; increase vocational preferential allowances for preschool and general education institutions to at least 70% for teachers, at least 30% for staff, 100% for teachers in especially difficult areas, border areas, islands, and ethnic minority areas.

As a new public facility that will be put into operation in 2024, Hoa Mi Kindergarten has received attention from authorities at all levels, investing in a fairly comprehensive system of facilities and equipment for childcare and education. The kitchen area is arranged according to the one-way principle, ensuring food safety and hygiene regulations. The school currently has 9 caregivers working to serve 870 children every day.

The caretakers at Hoa Mi Kindergarten often have to arrive at school early to do their daily work.

Teacher Phung Thi Lan affirmed that the attention of the Party and State leaders for the team of teachers and staff of schools is a big step forward contributing to creating more attraction for the Pedagogy sector to attract talented people to the Education sector. When policies are guaranteed, teachers will have more motivation to confidently stick with the profession.

"We are extremely excited, especially the nursing staff, because in the near future, they will receive a minimum allowance of 30% to help improve their income. The work of the kitchen staff is extremely hard; each month after deducting social insurance, the income is only 4,700,000 VND/person. In addition, the current salary of contract teachers is very low, not enough to cover their living expenses. If there is an additional allowance, it will be a motivation for teachers to feel secure in their work," said teacher Phung Thi Lan.

As a young teacher working at Dai Mo 3 Primary School (Tay Mo Ward, Hanoi ), Ms. Nguyen Dieu Huong - homeroom teacher of class 3A6 expressed her agreement and high consensus with the contents stated in Resolution 71, especially issues related to the remuneration policy for teachers in schools.

The policy stated in Resolution 71 is to increase the preferential allowance for preschool and general education institutions to at least 70% for teachers, at least 30% for staff, and 100% for teachers in extremely difficult areas, border areas, islands, and ethnic minority areas. According to Ms. Dieu Huong, this is extremely urgent and suitable to reality.

"Being cared about by the State in terms of allowances is a very happy thing. For us teachers, the love for children and the passion for the profession always burn to light the fire of knowledge for students every day. Whether the allowance exists or not, whether high or low, the love for the teaching profession will never diminish. Teachers only hope that students will be more and more obedient, parents will accompany, and the community will understand, that is enough" - Ms. Dieu Huong confided.
