Increase the number of candidates proposed for recognition as professors and associate professors in 2025

Compared to 2024, this year, the number of candidates proposed by the Council of Professors for recognition as meeting the standards for the title of professor and associate professor (GS, PGS) has increased dramatically.

On September 8, the State Council of Professors announced a list of 933 candidates proposed by the Basic Council of Professors to be considered for recognition as meeting the standards for the title of Professor and Associate Professor in 2025. The number of candidates this year increased by about 38.6% compared to last year (673 candidates in 2024).

Specifically, out of 933 candidates, there are 89 professor candidates (an increase of 26 compared to last year), 844 associate professor candidates (an increase of 234) in various fields/interdisciplinary fields.

Economics is the field with the largest number of candidates this year with 153 people, including 11 professor candidates and 142 associate professor candidates.

Like in 2024, Medicine ranked second with 124 people, including 15 professor candidates and 109 associate professor candidates. Third was the interdisciplinary Chemistry - Food Technology.

The fields with the least number of candidates proposed for consideration as Professor and Associate Professor are Mechanics (7 people), Hydraulics (7 people), History - Archeology - Ethnology/Anthropology (6 people), Metallurgy (3 people), Literature (1 person).

8 Faculty Councils of majors/interdisciplinary departments do not have any candidates for Professor, including: Agriculture - Forestry, Law, Culture - Arts - Sports, Linguistics, Mechanics, Irrigation, History - Archeology - Ethnology/Anthropology, Literature.

The Council of Professors of Military Science and Security Science does not make candidates public.

According to the plan, from August 29 to September 26, the Council of Professors of the industry and interdisciplinary sectors will continue to review and approve the standards for the titles of Professor and Associate Professor. Then, from October 20 to 31, the State Council of Professors will meet to review and recognize the standards for the titles of Professor and Associate Professor in 2025.
