During the past term, agriculture was the first sector to make its mark in the locality. The restructuring towards increasing value brought about clear results. The area of high-quality rice production increased significantly, reaching 4,769 hectares, contributing to an impressive total food output of 519,428 tons. In addition, the conversion of 258 hectares of ineffective rice land to growing vegetables and fruit trees opened up a new direction, diversifying products and increasing income for people. These figures are not only economic achievements but also evidence of the flexibility and sensitivity of local authorities and the proactive adaptation of farmers.

Along with agriculture , industry and handicrafts also made strong progress. The total number of production establishments increased by 248, bringing the total to 584. This sector mainly focuses on agricultural production and creates jobs for thousands of local workers. The steady growth not only contributes to the total production value but also creates sustainable livelihoods, improving the lives of many families.

In particular, tourism has become an important highlight, creating a unique identity for Oc Eo. The special national relic site of Oc Eo - Ba The has been invested in for conservation, restoration and effective exploitation. The number of tourists and researchers coming to visit and learn is increasing, reaching more than 6,000 arrivals/year. The development of tourism not only brings economic revenue but also helps promote the cultural and historical values of a brilliant civilization, arousing pride in the hearts of every Oc Eo child.

Entering the new term, the belief of the people of Oc Eo does not stop at looking back at what has been done but also looks forward with great expectations. Mr. Nguyen Ngoc - teacher of Nguyen Cong Tru Secondary School expressed: "We expect the Party Committee of the commune to continue to pay attention to investing in education and training, especially facilities and modern teaching equipment, meeting the requirements of innovation in general education programs. Along with that, focus on training and fostering the team of teachers in expertise, profession and skills in applying information technology, digital transformation in teaching and learning; promote the movement to encourage learning, encourage talents, care for students in difficult areas, especially children of the Khmer people".

Ms. Nguyen Thuy An - Secretary of Tan Vong Hamlet Party Cell emphasized the role of each party member in realizing the common goal. "To successfully implement the congress resolution, each party member must take the lead and motivate people to join in the implementation. The goals of income, poverty reduction, infrastructure development... will only be achieved when there is consensus and solidarity among the entire population," Ms. Nguyen Thuy An affirmed.

People's expectations are also reflected in major goals for the 2025 - 2030 term such as: Average income per capita in the area by 2030 will increase by 40% compared to 2025; tourism, trade and services will account for more than 50% of the economic structure; and the poverty rate will be reduced to below 0.5%. These goals are specified through breakthroughs: Completing transport infrastructure, promoting digital transformation, developing tourism associated with heritage and restructuring agriculture towards high technology.

Comrade Le Hong Tham - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council suggested that in the new term, the commune needs to diversify unique, high-quality tourism products, associated with the cultural and historical values of the Oc Eo - Ba The special national relic site. Along with that, restore and develop traditional industries, occupations, and typical cultures of the Khmer people associated with special national relics to develop local services and tourism. At the same time, strengthen social security policies, sustainable multidimensional poverty reduction policies, policies for people with meritorious services, and policy families in a comprehensive and inclusive manner according to the guiding principle of "leaving no one behind". Focus on social protection for vulnerable groups; create a safe living environment, fully implement children's rights, and gender equality policies.
