[Photo] Rescuing people in flooded areas at the foot of Prenn Pass overnight
Floodwaters from Cam Ly stream suddenly poured down on the night of September 5, causing widespread flooding in Hiep Thanh commune, Lam Dong province. Many households in K'Ren, K'Long, Tan An villages... were isolated. Faced with the emergency, Lam Dong Provincial Police mobilized dozens of officers and soldiers to promptly rescue people in the flooded area in the dark of night.

Heavy rain lasting from the afternoon to the night of September 5 caused the water level of Cam Ly stream to rise rapidly, causing deep flooding on National Highway 20 and the villages of K'Ren, K'Long, Tan An, Dinh An in Hiep Thanh commune; many residential areas were flooded nearly 1 meter deep, many households were isolated. The Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Force of Lam Dong Province Police quickly deployed a plan to rescue people in flooded areas. The Fire Prevention and Rescue Police of Lam Dong Province mobilized nearly 50 officers and soldiers along with 6 canoes and motorboats to the flooded area, prioritizing the evacuation of people from dangerous areas and providing supplies to households that had not been evacuated.
In the deep flood, the soldiers divided into many groups, rowing boats and wading into each village road to reach each household, bringing the elderly and children to safety. Rescue activities took place very urgently to ensure the safety of the people. Rescue forces arrived in time to bring flooded people to safety in the dark of night. Together with the rescue force, Hiep Thanh commune police and commune military forces, the local forces deployed on-duty work. At around 0:30 on September 6, the functional forces received a report that baby NBAK (nearly 2 months old, residing in K'Ren hamlet) was soaked, had a high fever, and was trapped in a deeply flooded house. The forces coordinated the rescue, many soldiers swam in the floodwaters to rescue the baby. After about 30 minutes, baby K (in the photo) was transferred to a medical facility for timely treatment. Authorities have deployed many plans to bring people in flooded areas to safety.
For many hours, specialized boats crept to each household to promptly rescue and bring each elderly person and child out of the flooded area. Many people in flooded areas were taken to safe areas by authorities at night. The overnight rescue of people in the flooded area at the foot of Prenn Pass demonstrated the dedication and bravery of the police force in the task of protecting people's lives and property, contributing to further brightening the spirit of "serving the people" of the police force.
On the morning of September 6, the authorities of Hiep Thanh commune, Lam Dong province, said that the locality is urgently overcoming the consequences of floods in the area. Initial records show that in Hiep Thanh commune, 5 villages were flooded, affecting about 500 households.
