In the period of 2021-2025, the old Phu Yen district has directed people to transform the agricultural economic structure, organic production and high-tech application. Support of more than 10 billion VND has been deployed for cooperatives and cooperatives to produce in an organic direction. By the end of June 2025, Phu Yen area has more than 60 cooperatives operating in the agricultural and service sectors; a number of agricultural product brands have been recognized, including: Phu Yen oranges, Phu Yen rice... Some OCOP products, such as: Minh Ngoc tea bags; An Xoa water extract; Van Van smoked buffalo meat; On's family wooden furniture... Many crops such as rice, sugar oranges, sweet tangerines have been gradually converted to organic production, with nearly 700 hectares.

During the 2025-2030 term, the Party Committee of 8 communes in Phu Yen area aims to develop 1-2 new cooperatives/commune. Accordingly, Phu Yen commune will have over 9 cooperatives; Muong Bang has 5 cooperatives; Gia Phu and Muong Coi have 8 cooperatives/commune; Suoi To and Kim Bon have 1 cooperative; Tan Phong re-establishes and develops 3 new cooperatives; Tuong Ha has over 4 cooperatives. Particularly for Kim Bon, Suoi To and Tan Phong communes, research will be done to build cooperatives associated with building OCOP products. At the same time, develop 7 or more new OCOP products.

Muong Coi commune has 200/600 hectares of fruit trees that have applied VietGAP and organic production processes. Farmers use organic fertilizers, treat pests and diseases with biological methods, and minimize the use of chemicals. Products such as oranges and sweet tangerines are of high quality and are well appreciated by the market. Currently, in the commune, there are 6 cooperatives operating in the field of agricultural production, with over 70 members, growing over 100 hectares of fruit trees, and linking production with households on nearly 150 hectares.

Mr. Phan Ngoc Linh, Chairman of Muong Coi Commune People's Committee, said: Immediately after starting to operate under the new model, the commune reviewed fruit tree production cooperatives in the area to meet the requirements of organic production and VietGAP to continue to support the construction of production and product consumption links between cooperatives and farming households, especially maintaining the "Phu Yen Orange" brand; mobilize production households to establish cooperatives, expand production and product consumption links for people, and consolidate the position of Muong Coi agricultural products in the market.

As for Phu Yen commune, the organic rice growing area is currently about 500 hectares, of which 130 hectares have been certified organic. The brand "Phu Yen Rice" has been affirmed, the product has received high appreciation from consumers, so the locality continues to mobilize cooperatives to join with cooperatives to replicate the organic rice growing model. To date, more than 1,000 households have participated in the production and consumption linkage model, the selling price of organic rice products has reached 35,000 VND/kg or more, contributing to increasing income for rice growers.

Ms. Cam Thi Ngan, Director of Quang Huy Agricultural Service Cooperative, excitedly said: Starting to produce rice in an organic direction since 2019 with more than 15 hectares, up to now, the Cooperative has over 50 hectares of self-production and production linkage with 1,000 households, the organic rice growing area reaches 150 hectares, the average yield reaches 5 tons of paddy/ha. Organic rice is favored by customers in and outside the province, the selling price is 15,000 VND/kg higher than rice produced by traditional methods. Moreover, building the "Phu Yen Rice" brand has helped the Cooperative members to consume products conveniently.

With a water surface area of more than 500 hectares of Hoa Binh hydroelectric reservoir, Tuong Ha commune has developed more than 200 fish cages. Currently, the commune has developed a plan to develop cage fish farming, applying VietGAP production process in aquaculture as a basis for building a brand. Based on the results of determining deep water locations, minimizing the impact of water level changes, the commune has identified a number of safe locations in Na Puc and Ha Luong villages... for fish farmers to move their cages when the water level drops.

Mr. Cam Van Thong, Director of Tuong Phong Aquatic Cooperative, Tuong Ha Commune, said: The Cooperative has over 100 fish cages, mainly catfish, grass carp, common carp... with an output of about 2 tons of fish/cage/year, consumed at restaurants in Phu Yen, Bac Yen and some neighboring communes in Phu Tho province. The Cooperative is guiding members to switch to VietGAP fish farming process to build product brands, link with customers and restaurants in and outside the area to consume products.

Linking production and consumption of agricultural products in Phu Yen area not only helps affirm the local agricultural product brand in the market inside and outside the province, but also creates opportunities for farmers to get rich on their homeland.
