A80 CEREMONY MEDIA
BOLD IMPRESSIONS OF MAIN PRESS AGENCIES
As the Party's mouthpiece and the leading force in Vietnam's revolutionary press, many months before the A80 Anniversary took place, Nhan Dan Newspaper had already begun planning specific propaganda activities to celebrate the great day in diverse and rich forms.
Under the direction of Editor-in-Chief Le Quoc Minh, the Newspaper's professional departments have proactively planned and coordinated the implementation of special pages and columns in print and online newspapers, produced editorials, commentaries, and long-term special topics to emphasize the historical value and contemporary significance of the August Revolution and National Day September 2; at the same time, affirming the new stature and position of Vietnam in the international arena.
On August 29, the special page "National Day in the historic autumn" of Nhan Dan Newspaper was officially launched at https://quockhanh.nhandan.vn , including 8 sections: August Revolution; National Day; Vietnam's position and foundation; The era of national rise; News; August Revolution Diary; Multimedia; Q&A.
The site is a vividly designed data journalism channel, depicting the historical flow of the country since the establishment of the Communist Party of Vietnam , through the era of national independence and freedom, the era of innovation, integration and development, and now entering the era of striving to develop richly and prosperously.
Not only providing the most basic knowledge about historical events 80 years ago, the Special Page also recreates heroic memories, affirms the great stature of the August Revolution and National Day September 2; highlights the country's achievements over the past 80 years, and raises the sense of responsibility of all people, especially the young generation, in preserving and promoting historical values in the new context.

The special supplement on September 2 of Nhan Dan Newspaper has many "digital gifts" that take readers "through time" back to the moment Uncle Ho read the Declaration of Independence at the historic Ba Dinh Square on September 2, 1945.
The first part of the supplement recreates the image of President Ho Chi Minh reading the Declaration of Independence at Ba Dinh Square on September 2, 1945, and prints the entire Declaration of Independence - the immortal document affirming the independence and freedom of the Vietnamese people.
The second part introduces 80 outstanding events of the country in the past 80 years in the fields of politics , economics, society, foreign affairs, culture...
The augmented reality #D model of the Independence Monument on September 2, 1945 is another "digital gift" that Nhan Dan Newspaper gives to readers on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of National Day.
Also on this occasion, continuing the creative digital press products that had "caused a storm" in the previous propaganda campaigns to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory and the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification, Nhan Dan Newspaper continued to launch a special issue and supplement, which have long been a "specialty" of Nhan Dan Newspaper, always awaited and sought after by society.
The supplement consists of two parts. The first part recreates the image of President Ho Chi Minh reading the Declaration of Independence at Ba Dinh Square on September 2, 1945, and prints the entire Declaration of Independence - the immortal document affirming the independence and freedom of the Vietnamese people.
Comrade Le Quoc Minh, member of the Party Central Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association, introduced the supplement 2/9 of Nhan Dan Newspaper at the launch on August 29.
The second part introduces 80 outstanding events of the country in the past 80 years in the fields of politics, economy, society, foreign affairs, culture... The art design is hand-drawn by artist Kim Duan, combining political commentary with visual arts, aiming to arouse national pride, foster patriotism in generations, especially the young generation.
What is special is that this supplement has many "digital gifts" that take readers "time-travel" back to the historical moment of September 2, exactly 80 years ago, including a virtual reality experience at Ba Dinh Square, a 3D model of the Independence Monument in augmented reality (AR) format that allows users to "check-in" with the monument in any space, and the experience of listening to the Declaration of Independence on Spotify and TikTok.
Spotify scan codes are temporarily "tattooed" on your hands, giving readers the opportunity to listen to the Declaration of Independence giving birth to the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, read by President Ho Chi Minh to the nation at Ba Dinh Square on September 2, 1945.
These are unique “phygital” products (a combination of real-life and digital experiences) of Nhan Dan Newspaper, aiming to reach a young audience who are eager to hear the heroic historical stories of their ancestors through digital experiences that are in line with the trends of the technological era.
On the first day of free distribution to readers (August 29), the special supplement of Nhan Dan Newspaper created a strong attraction when many people came early to line up and wait for their turn to receive it at the headquarters at 71 Hang Trong as well as at the Nhan Dan Newspaper display booth within the framework of the National Achievements Exhibition at the National Exhibition Center.
In the following days, including National Day, the heat of the September 2 supplement showed no signs of cooling down. Thousands of people still eagerly lined up to receive the special supplement and to have a temporary Spotify code “tattooed” on their hands, with the desire to experience the historic moments of the Fall of Independence (1945) through the lens of modern technology.
The art design of the September 2 supplement was hand-drawn by artist Kim Duan, combining political commentary with visual art, aiming to arouse national pride and foster patriotism in generations, especially the younger generation.
It can be said that, after the success of the special issues and publications commemorating the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory and the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification, the ripple effect created by the September 2 supplement in recent days continues to affirm the correct and creative approach of Nhan Dan Newspaper in bringing people, especially the younger generation, closer to the nation's history.
More specifically, through these unique “phygital” products, Nhan Dan Newspaper, as one of the four main press agencies, continues to affirm its pioneering and leading position in the country’s revolutionary press, making an important contribution to the common mission: spreading the spirit of patriotism, national pride and self-respect to all people and international friends on the occasion of the great anniversary of A80.
Nhan Dan Newspaper, with its responsibility as the Party's mouthpiece, always strives to be creative in order to bring to readers special publications rich in historical, cultural and artistic values. Through the special supplement 2/9 and other parallel activities, we hope not only to review history but also to add confidence, aspiration, spread the spirit of solidarity and the will to rise up to build a strong and prosperous Vietnam in the new era.

In addition to launching the supplement and the special publication on September 2, another notable highlight of Nhan Dan Newspaper in the propaganda campaign about the A80 event was the coordination with the Hanoi People's Committee to organize a special political art program "Fatherland in the Heart" at My Dinh National Stadium, attracting more than 50 thousand live viewers and millions of viewers through mass media.
Through the lyrics and singing of famous artists, the program recreated the heroic history, honored the sacrifices of generations of fathers and brothers, and conveyed the message of national pride, the spirit of great solidarity, and the aspiration to rise of the Vietnamese people in the new era. The moment when tens of thousands of spectators stood up, turned towards the red flag with a yellow star and sang the National Anthem in unison in the program was a heroic, patriotic moment that took the audience's breath away, leaving unforgettable impressions in the hearts of the audience.
According to Associate Professor, Dr. Bui Hoai Son, full-time member of the National Assembly's Committee on Culture and Society, the fact that Nhan Dan Newspaper has organized a national art program like "Fatherland in the Heart" has a special meaning. It is a vivid demonstration of how modern journalism can expand its role, not only as a "news reporter" and a guide to public opinion, but also as a "creator" - creating moving events, spaces, and moments, contributing to fostering the spiritual strength and aspirations of the nation.
On the morning of September 2, the ceremony, parade, and march to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day took place in a solemn and heroic atmosphere, leaving many emotions in the hearts of millions of Vietnamese people. Contributing significantly to that success were the beautiful frames broadcast live on Vietnam Television (VTV).
From high-flying drones capturing the entire parade, to steadicams following every step of the officers and soldiers in the ranks; from long, smooth pans capturing the motorcade, to close-up shots of the radiant faces of soldiers, youths, and students. All blend together to create a complete visual experience.
Immediately after the event ended, social media was flooded with praise posts accompanied by screenshots of VTV’s footage from the ceremony. Viewers did not hesitate to send compliments to the filming crew and director of the program for bringing “absolutely cinematic” camera angles.
“I couldn’t believe my eyes. Scenes that I thought only existed in action movies were now on VTV, and they were live broadcasts.”
“Watching the footage of the new weapons and equipment clearly shows the absolute cinematic quality of this great festival. Really giving me goosebumps, gasping for breath, reaching the peak…”.
“No negatives. Great.”
"Too excellent, this time VTV is really classy."
“Awesome. Watched every minute.”
"Today's TV station has excellent, eye-catching footage."
…….

The heroic footsteps of the soldiers.
These are the compliments that the online community has given to the A80 crew of Vietnam Television for bringing the sharpest, highest quality footage of the nation's important event to all people across the country. However, few people know that behind those solemn, meticulous images on television are the efforts, careful preparation from early on, the enthusiasm and the highest determination of a team of hundreds of people over the past few months, so that each footage, each camera angle is worthy of the heroic stature of the event.
General Director of Vietnam Television Nguyen Thanh Lam and Deputy General Director Do Thanh Hai talk with VTV's A80 crew at the scene of a working session.
Assigned to be the general director of photography for the live broadcast of the A80 Anniversary, Parade, and March, director Bui Thai Duong (Head of Director - Cinematographer, Culture - Entertainment Department, Vietnam Television) said that to 'set up' an effective operating machine is a huge amount of work. The station's crew started from the first steps such as drawing camera diagrams, equipment diagrams... At the same time, it was necessary to calculate each route, each parade and marching block - from the walking block, the vehicle block, the air force to the navy at sea to arrange machinery and equipment...
“Everything had to be planned early, even when there was no detailed information. Each member, each camera, each color car... were assigned clear tasks, with 200% backup to avoid any untimely situations. Preparations were so detailed that every second, even half a second, was calculated for each image,” said director Bui Thai Duong.
To get the beautiful frames on the live broadcast of the recent Anniversary Ceremony was the effort and dedication of the entire crew.
According to the general director, the crew consulted the experience of live parade programs in several countries, built a plan with more than 40 cameras, 5-6 color cars and a central booth; at the same time, added special equipment such as flycam, buggy cam, segway cam, cable cam... to create a more multi-dimensional perspective for the people, vehicles and the entire parade.
To ensure the successful completion of the assigned tasks, during the parade rehearsals at the Mieu Mon National Training Center, Vietnam Television invited experts from Russia - who have experience in implementing large-scale parade programs - to accompany and advise the VTV team to have a multi-dimensional view and develop optimal camera angles and techniques. Each movement of the parade and marching groups was carefully studied to determine the best camera angles and filming times.

In addition, in the crew of the live broadcast of A80 this time, Vietnam Television mobilized the participation of freelance cameraman Le Bao Han (nicknamed Steadihan) - an expert in using steadicam - a device that helps create stable and smooth footage, and is also the author behind the "absolutely cinematic" footage that has made waves on social networks in recent days.
The image of cameraman Le Bao Han moving on a Hoverboard with a steadicam device weighing more than 20kg made a strong impression on television viewers.
Sharing on his personal Facebook page, Le Bao Han said that in his entire life as a freelancer, he never dared to think that the State would invite him to stand in Ba Dinh to film a military parade. Admitting that the psychological pressure he had to endure when filming A80 was much greater than previous projects, the cameraman affirmed that it was "worth every second and minute, a Steadicam professional can probably only do it once in his life".
With careful preparation from early on, from afar, and the addition of quality personnel to the A80 crew, VTV has affirmed its determination to fulfill the noble mission of a national television station on the great national holiday. All preparations are aimed at a single goal: to bring meticulous, eye-catching images, fully conveying the heroic and emotional atmosphere of the celebration to domestic audiences and international friends, as General Director Bui Thai Duong shared.
During the A80 anniversary propaganda campaign, Voice of Vietnam (VOV) also had a very unique and creative way of using virtual reality (VR) technology to take participants back in time, reliving the atmosphere of the historic day of September 2, 1945.
The project "Returning to the sacred moment" is chaired by Voice of Vietnam Radio, assigned to VTC News Electronic Newspaper to coordinate with the Academy of Posts and Telecommunications Technology to implement.

For the first time, with just a VR headset, visitors can “relive” the moment of an autumn morning in 1945, joining thousands of compatriots at Ba Dinh Square, listening to President Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence giving birth to the Democratic Republic of Vietnam.
The entire space of Ba Dinh Square in 1945 was meticulously restored in every detail using 3D graphics technology, from the red color of the flag, the blue sky to the faces of the people. Participants wearing VR glasses, entering the 360-degree space, can freely observe the scene of Ba Dinh Square with brilliant flags, bustling people, cheers mixed with applause.

President Ho Chi Minh's warm voice resounded, creating a real feeling for the audience as if they were standing in the middle of a great national holiday, joyful and moved with their compatriots at the moment the country entered an era of independence and freedom.
With the space of technology recreating history, the virtual reality experience “Returning to the sacred moment”, the heroic history touches the heart of every Vietnamese person. Not only bringing history closer to the public, but also arousing national pride, nurturing ideals, and fostering civic responsibility. History is no longer dry pages of books, but appears vividly, closely and touchingly.
Not only bringing history closer to the public, the virtual reality experience project "Returning to the sacred moment" also ignites patriotism, arousing national pride in the hearts of every citizen, especially the young generation.
Shortly after the registration portal opened, the Organizing Committee received more than 30,000 registrations. Thousands of people then lined up at the National Broadcasting Center (from August 19 to 21) and at the National Exhibition and Fair Center (from August 28 to September 5) to participate in the experience.
According to Mr. Do Tien Sy - General Director of VOV, that is a testament to the desire of the public, especially the young generation, to be among the crowd of Ba Dinh Square on September 2, 1945, to join the people in shouting the oath to save the nation, and listening to Uncle Ho read the Declaration of Independence.
As the national news agency, Vietnam News Agency is responsible for providing official, fast and accurate information to the entire press system. During the A80 propaganda campaign, Vietnam News Agency strongly promoted that role.
With a network of resident reporters spread across provinces and cities and 30 permanent offices abroad, Vietnam News Agency has reported clearly and promptly on National Day celebrations across the country as well as those of our overseas Vietnamese.

Hundreds of news reports, photos, videos, and infographics have been produced by the specialized departments of Vietnam News Agency, not only serving the domestic press, but also serving international news agencies and newspapers for use and exploitation, thereby spreading the image of Vietnam to the international community, contributing significantly to the overall success of the A80 propaganda work.
In addition to the main press agencies, newspapers in Hanoi and the locality also created a clear highlight during the recent propaganda campaign for the great event when they proactively had articles that widely informed the public, mentioning many stories related to A80, including two main events: the Exhibition of National Achievements at the National Exhibition Center and the Celebration, Parade, and March at Ba Dinh Square.
Through these stories, the press has reflected the country's journey since independence, through many ups and downs, thereby arousing national pride, fueling the will for self-reliance, self-reliance, and national unity to move towards aspirations in the new era.
Talking to Nhan Dan Newspaper reporters, Mr. Luu Dinh Phuc, Director of the Press Department, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism said that the highlight in the form of propaganda about the A80 event of press agencies is not only reporting on their official systems but also spreading on digital platforms with a large number of young people and many people accessing, such as opening fanpages, posting on content channels on cyberspace short clips, short information but very much loved by young people, spreading to each other.

Towards the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2, the Press Department has coordinated with TikTok to launch the campaign "I love my Fatherland - 80 years of a radiant Vietnam" and discussed with press agencies about responding to this campaign. Up to now, the campaign with the hashtag #RangRoVietNam has had about 1.2 billion views with about 20 million likes. In particular, the main press agencies, especially VTV with beautiful images, vivid clips, quality footage at the recent Anniversary, parade, and march have been widely spread.
The national concert program “Fatherland in the Heart” organized by Nhan Dan Newspaper also had 800-900 million views with the content spread with the hashtag #RangRoVietNam . VTV24 and many other newspapers also spread the hashtag #RangRoVietNam on digital platforms, creating a very strong effect, arousing the aspirations and pride of the people, with a new spirit when the nation entered a new era.

Assessing the participation of four key press agencies in this propaganda campaign, Mr. Luu Dinh Phuc affirmed that with different forms of communication, key press agencies such as Nhan Dan Newspaper, VTV, VOV, and Vietnam News Agency have clearly demonstrated their guiding and leading roles, contributing significantly to spreading the spirit of patriotism and national pride of the Vietnamese people to all parts of the country and friends around the world. "In particular, the concert "Fatherland in the Heart" of Nhan Dan Newspaper, with traditional songs and the moment when 50,000 people sang the National Anthem in unison, has aroused and spread intense national pride in the hearts of every Vietnamese person", the Director of the Press Department shared.
It can be said that the success of the A80 propaganda campaign once again affirmed the key role of press agencies, in which the main press agencies have maximized their strengths, while coordinating smoothly, creating a strong spread, turning the A80 event into a "festival for all people", thereby strengthening the spirit of solidarity, creating strength and momentum to bring the country forward in the new era - the era of strong, prosperous development of the nation.
