Global Finance magazine has just released the list of Central Bank Governors with the highest ratings, including "A+", "A" or "A-", in the Central Bank Governor Ratings Report 2025.
Among them, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong is one of three Governors rated A+, along with Chairman of the US Federal Reserve (Fed) Jerome Hayden Powell and Governor of the Danish central bank Christian Kettel Thomsen.
This is the second time Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong has been rated A+, after the first time in 2023. She is recognized for her outstanding achievements in controlling inflation, stabilizing exchange rates, managing interest rates and supporting economic growth.
The Central Bank Governors Rankings report, published annually by Global Finance since 1994, “grades” the central bank governors of nearly 100 key countries, territories and regions, as well as the European Union, the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB), the Central Bank of Central African States (BEAC) and the Central Bank of West African States (BCEAO).
Grades are awarded on a scale of "A+" to "F", based on success in areas such as controlling inflation, achieving economic growth targets, stabilizing currency, managing interest rates... ("A" represents excellence, down to "F" - indicating total failure).
“Our annual report aims to recognize leaders who not only achieve results but also demonstrate independence, discipline and strategic vision in their operations,” said Joseph Giarraputo, founder and editorial director of Global Finance.
