Attractive Italian picture book about President Ho Chi Minh

Through the objective perspective of an Italian artist, the book tells the story of a great Vietnamese man and a heroic Vietnamese people through expressive drawings and images.

In 1968, the Vie Nuove magazine (the mouthpiece of the Italian Communist Party) published the book. The book was narrated by journalists Paolo Bracaglia Morante and Camillo Pisani, combining emotional illustrations by artist Pino Dangelico and many valuable documentary photos. In 2020, the work was donated to the Ho Chi Minh Museum by the Veneto Region Italy-Vietnam Friendship Association, and then introduced to Kim Dong Publishing House by the Vietnam-Italy Friendship Association. In May 2025, the Vietnamese version of "Ho Chi Minh - A Man and a Nation" was introduced to the public, translated by Bui Thi Thai Duong, with editing support from the Ho Chi Minh Museum and the Institute of History.

The 204-page book is a collection of 12 magazine issues, with 12 topics following the flow of history, helping readers follow the story of Uncle Ho's life, starting from the thousand-year history of the Vietnamese people with great wars to defend the country, to the invasion of French colonialism... and finally leader Ho Chi Minh leading the Vietnamese people to gain independence and freedom.

In particular, the book is a rare publication that systematically tells about Uncle Ho's life in the form of a picture book. The pages are vivid and attractive, combining illustrations and valuable documentary images. Through the drawings, readers can feel the pain of losing the country, the indomitable spirit, and the burning patriotism of the Vietnamese people. In addition, the interesting point of the book is the folk paintings, paintings by contemporary Vietnamese artists, and expressive propaganda posters... Thanks to that, the story about Uncle Ho and the country and people of Vietnam is conveyed visually, vividly, easily understood, and easily remembered. With extensive content and attractive form, readers are even more proud of how much Uncle Ho is admired and loved by people around the world .
