Tay Ninh Art after Unification - Overcoming Difficulties to Affirm Oneself

After the province's merger, cultural and artistic activities in Tay Ninh faced many difficulties, especially the problem of travel and concentration of cadres and artists. However, with a sense of responsibility and love for the profession, the art units in the province gradually overcame the challenges, creating impressive programs, both serving political tasks and meeting the enjoyment needs of the people.

Overcome difficulties, complete tasks

One of the biggest difficulties is the movement of the staff and artists when they focus on practicing, building programs and performing for large, especially important programs of the province. Moving back and forth between facilities 1 and 2 takes a lot of time, effort and also affects personal life. However, with a sense of responsibility and love for the profession, the staff and artists have strived to overcome the above difficulties, uniting together to complete the assigned tasks well.

Living in Tan Ninh ward, Tay Ninh province, Deputy Head of the Propaganda, Exhibition and Mobile Film Screening Team Bui Van Minh Triet often works at facility 2 of the provincial Cultural and Artistic Center. However, recently, due to work requirements, Triet and many colleagues have focused on working at facility 1. In Long An ward, he and his colleagues were arranged to stay at the Circus Group's dormitory during the time they focused on organizing programs to serve important events of the province.

Mr. Triet shared: "Moving far away will of course have certain difficulties, however, my colleagues and I have determined from the beginning that we will overcome difficulties and complete tasks for the common development of the unit and the province."

Currently, to serve the task of organizing the exhibition space to celebrate the 80th anniversary of National Day September 2, Mr. Triet and many colleagues are still present in Long An ward and are expected to continue to stay to serve the propaganda task before, during and after the Provincial Party Congress as well as other important upcoming events.

Director of the Provincial Center for Culture and Arts Nguyen Trieu Minh said that in order to support cadres, civil servants and workers, the Board of Directors always creates favorable conditions and reasonably arranges forces between the two facilities to ensure work efficiency.

“Despite the difficulties, the merger has opened up great opportunities. The apparatus has been consolidated and operated stably, thereby helping the agency have enough resources to organize large-scale art programs, serving the province's important political events,” Mr. Minh affirmed.

The close coordination between the two previously separate units has helped political, social and people-serving activities become more professional and synchronized. Since the province's merger, the Provincial Cultural and Artistic Center has organized many performance programs to serve the 1st Congress of the Party Committee of Tay Ninh Provincial People's Committee; Handover ceremony, memorial service, and burial of the remains of Vietnamese martyrs who died in Cambodia; Ceremony to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Traditional Day of the Vietnam People's Public Security;...

At the same time, many music, dance, circus and magic shows were also brought closer to the public. Notably, the Center recently participated in the National Mobile Propaganda Competition and won 1 Gold Medal, 2 Silver Medals for the performance and 1 Certificate of Merit for the individual.

Besides the Cultural and Artistic Center, the Cai Luong Troupe also made new progress under the name of the Vam Co Cai Luong Art Troupe. After being consolidated, the Troupe gradually improved the quality of its actors, attracting many Golden Bells and Silver Bells to join the troupe such as Meritorious Artist Ngoc Doi, Artist Le Dieu Hien, Artist Le Hoang Nghi, Artist Phu Yen, etc.

Not only investing in building new plays with the participation of many veteran artists, the Vam Co Cai Luong Art Troupe also advocates promoting revenue-generating performances and plans to tour to serve audiences in the province.

This is considered a transformational period of the Troupe, demonstrating the desire to renew artistic thinking as well as to be more deeply attached to the cultural identity of the Vam Co River and the land of Tay Ninh, rich in historical traditions” - Head of the Vam Co Cai Luong Art Troupe - People's Artist Ho Ngoc Trinh affirmed.

Currently, the Vam Co Cai Luong Art Troupe is staging a new historical and costume play, The Imperial Capital, set in the Dinh Dynasty to highlight the patriotism, sacrifice and wisdom of our ancestors. The play chooses a large, epic theme, with the script written by Dr., People's Artist Trieu Trung Kien and playwright Hoang Song Viet.

The biggest challenge for the Troupe at present is to find a new approach to a character quite familiar in history as well as art - Queen Mother Duong Van Nga. This shows the Troupe's determination to preserve and promote the art of Cai Luong in the current context.

In the current post-merger period, when the organizational structure and operations have just begun to stabilize, there are still many difficulties in mechanisms, preferential policies or material conditions, but with efforts and passion, those working in Tay Ninh culture and arts are still gradually rising, continuing to accompany the development of the province./.
