Why do we need to check monthly electricity consumption index?
During the hot summer months, households' demand for electricity increases, causing electricity bills to also increase.
Regularly monitoring electricity consumption index and monthly electricity bill will help users compare electricity consumption each month, especially early detection of abnormal signs in the process of electricity use to have appropriate treatment plan.
For example, if one month, a household goes on vacation or is away for a long time, but the consumption index and electricity bill are still higher than the previous month, the user needs to immediately contact the electricity company to report the situation and find appropriate solutions.
Steps to check electricity consumption index and monthly electricity bill on VNeID
With the goal of turning VNeID into a super application to serve the national digital transformation process, the National Population Data Center has increasingly integrated many new and useful features into this application.
One of them is a feature that allows users to track their electricity consumption and monthly electricity bills.
To check electricity consumption index and monthly electricity bill on VNeID, users follow these steps:
- First, activate the VNeID application on your smartphone and log in to your account.
- From the main interface of the application, select "Other services", then select "Look up electricity usage information" from the list that appears.

- Next step, you choose "Look up for yourself" or "Look up for someone else".
In case you choose “Search for yourself”, in the “Payment period” section, you choose “1”; in the “Management unit” section, you choose the electricity company where you live. For example, if you live in Hue or Da Nang, you choose “Central Power Corporation” or choose “Northern Power Corporation” if you live in the northern provinces and cities (not Hanoi ).
In the "Month - year" section, select the month you want to check the electricity consumption as well as the electricity bill to be paid.

After declaring all the information, click the “Search” button. The VNeID application will display the amount of electricity consumed, the number of electricity meters used, and the amount of electricity paid for the month that the user has selected. You can click the “Details” button to see more information about the amount of electricity consumed in the month.

If you choose “Look up for someone else” (in case the person who needs to look up the electricity bill does not have a smartphone to install the VNeID application), you need to fill in the information of the person who needs to look up, including personal identification number, full name, customer code (you can see the customer code on the electricity bill notification message or the electricity bill notice sent).
In the sections “Payment period”, “Management unit” and “Month - year”, users declare information as instructed above. Then click the “Search” button to view information about electricity consumption index and the amount to be paid.

Based on the information provided by the VNeID application, users can know their monthly electricity consumption and compare monthly electricity bills, thereby finding solutions to use electricity reasonably and economically.
Note
The VNeID application only displays electricity consumption index and electricity bill for those who are the head of the household and sign the contract with the electricity supply company. Therefore, not everyone who uses the "Look up electricity usage information" feature on the VNeID application will receive the returned results.
