According to Social Insurance Region XXVII (Ho Chi Minh City), from July 1, when the new Law on Social Insurance and Law on Health Insurance take effect, people need to proactively update their ID number and personal identification number in their social insurance and health insurance registration records.

Not updated information, lost many benefits

In fact, due to outdated or inaccurate information, many people have difficulty looking up their social insurance payment history, are not issued health insurance cards, and have delayed pension payments and monthly social insurance benefits...

For convenience, people can update via the digital social insurance application (VssID) or log in to VssID using a level 2 electronic identification account (VNeID).

VssID has many features such as looking up social insurance participation time, unemployment insurance or replacing paper health insurance cards when examining and treating at medical facilities.

The Social Insurance Agency recommends that users carefully check personal information on VssID such as ID number (12 digits) instead of the old ID card (10 digits); full name, date of birth, gender on birth certificate and ID; permanent address; personal phone number and email...

For employees participating in compulsory social insurance who have not updated their citizen identification number/personal identification number, they can update information through the employer.

Then the organization, unit, or enterprise using the labor creates an electronic file 608 (attached with proof of identity, a copy of the citizen identification card) or notifies the employee's personal identification number and sends it to the social insurance agency in charge for updating.

How to check ID number on VNeID and VssID

Some common errors and how to handle them

Social Insurance Region XXVII notes common errors and how to fix them:

1. If you forget your VssID login password, you can use your VNeID account (level 2 identified) to log in on the VssID application and the Social Insurance Public Service Portal https://dichvucong.baohiemxahoi.gov.vn/.

2. If the account has an updated email address, go to the "Forgot Password" section on the VssID application and the Social Insurance Public Service Portal https://dichvucong.baohiemxahoi.gov.vn/. Then the user enters the "Login Name" which is the social insurance code and email to receive the password.

In addition, when forgetting the VssID password, people can call the hotline 1900.9068 to receive support from the smart virtual assistant (service provider fee is 1,000 VND/minute).

First, the employee calls the above switchboard using the phone number registered with the VssID account and presses the key as instructed. Then, the virtual assistant will ask to read the social security number.

After reading the correct social security number, the system will read the new VssID password, the password will be repeated once.

If the code is not read correctly, the virtual assistant will notify "phone number and insurance code do not match or are not registered with the social insurance agency".

If you do not receive the OTP code, you can check the Spam or Junk folder in your email and ensure a stable network connection or contact the hotline 1900.9068 for support.

Regarding system errors or public service authentication, users need to try again after a period of time. If the error persists, people need to contact the local social insurance agency for support.
