Candidate sings, wears shorts and numbered shirt to take aptitude test at Hanoi Pedagogical University

(Dan Tri) - This morning (July 5), more than 3,000 candidates took the aptitude test to enter Hanoi Pedagogical University.

Thousands of candidates dressed in traditional ao dai, traditional skirts, shorts and numbered shirts gathered at Hanoi National University of Education this morning.

In an eye-catching national costume, Tran Thi Hue ( Ninh Binh ) said that she will perform the song “My Joy” in the talent competition. Although she is not a contestant from the highlands, Hue chose this costume to match the song.

“I took the entrance exam for preschooleducation because I love children. I am quite confident in my singing voice and hope to achieve high results in the talent test,” Hue said.

Giang Thi Cuc returned to Hanoi from Dien Bien 2 days ago. This morning, Cuc also chose the traditional costume of the Mong people to go to the exam location.

The female student chose the song "My Joy" to perform the talent test for the preschool education major, Hanoi National University of Education.

In addition to singing, Cuc also had to demonstrate her storytelling talent. This female student said she went online to search for short, easy-to-listen stories to enter in the contest.

Before the exam, Cuc practiced at home many times. She asked her family members to act as “judges” to monitor her performance to edit and perfect it. This female student's goal is to get 8 points in each talent test.

Performing quite well in the long jump competition, Vu Thi Han (Bac Ninh) said that she had to compete in two talent events: long jump and 100m run.

Her dream is to become a physical education teacher. "There are 5 teachers at my school, but they are all male. I wish to become a female teacher of this subject. I am not worried about the hardships, I am just worried about not having a job, and my parents are very supportive of their daughter becoming a physical education teacher," Han said.

Han chose to major in physical education and sports because she loved physical education and sports since childhood, was passionate about soccer, and was good at playing badminton, shuttlecock, and basketball.

Han won the Silver Medal in football, the National Phu Dong Sports Festival in 2024 and the Gold Medal in shuttlecock kicking in Bac Giang province (old) in 2025.

This female student was already guaranteed direct admission to Hanoi Pedagogical University, but she registered for an additional aptitude test to give herself another chance.

According to a representative of Hanoi National University of Education, the aptitude test aims to select students with suitable aptitudes, meeting the entrance requirements of a number of regular university training majors, including: Preschool Education; Preschool Education - English Pedagogy; Physical Education; Music Pedagogy; Fine Arts Pedagogy; contributes to ensuring the quality of training and output.

Hanoi National University of Education does not use the results of aptitude tests organized by other schools for admission.

Aptitude tests for admission to the Music Education major include: Singing and basic music theory, reading music.

The aptitude test subjects for admission to the Fine Arts Pedagogy major include: Drawing and decoration.

The aptitude tests for admission to Physical Education include: Long jump and 100m run.

Aptitude tests for admission to the majors of Preschool Education and Preschool Education - English Pedagogy include: Singing (including singing and listening to music and rhythm); storytelling and expressive reading.

In 2025, there were 3,202 candidates taking the aptitude test to enter Hanoi National University of Education.

This year, Hanoi National University of Education plans to enroll nearly 5,000 students into 50 majors and programs, using three methods: Based on high school graduation exam results; considering candidates with outstanding achievements and abilities; and based on the scores of the capacity assessment organized by the school.

For the majors of Preschool Education, Preschool Education - English Pedagogy, Physical Education, Music Pedagogy, and Fine Arts Pedagogy, when considering the graduation exam scores, candidates need to take an additional aptitude test.
