The exciting start of the "Dan Tri 20 years - Bright new day" pickleball tournament

On the morning of July 5, the "Dan Tri 20 Years - Bright New Day" pickleball tournament co-organized by Dan Tri newspaper and Vietnam Pickleball Sports Forum Joint Stock Company (PICKFAIR) took place at Dai Kim Pickleball Complex (Hoang Mai, Hanoi). As early as 6:30 am, many athletes flocked to the field to prepare for the competition.

Athletes check-in, receive competition shirts and gifts from the tournament organizers.

Actor Minh Tiep participated in the mixed doubles competition (Dan Tri Lead) and received attention and requests to take souvenir photos with many female athletes.

Ms. Le Thi Hoang Yen - Deputy Director of the Vietnam Sports Department, had a health check at the counter before entering the tournament.

7:30 am, the opening ceremony took place with the presence of Mr. Tran Duc Toan - Deputy Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Home Affairs ; Ms. Le Thi Hoang Yen - Deputy Director of the Vietnam Sports and Physical Training Department; Journalist Pham Tuan Anh - Editor-in-Chief and Deputy Editors-in-Chief of Dan Tri newspaper; Mr. Le Ngoc An - Director of Pickfair; Mr. Dinh Cong Minh - Head of the Referee Board, and more than 600 athletes from all over the country attending the tournament.

Journalist Pham Tuan Anh - Editor-in-Chief of Dan Tri Newspaper - gave the opening speech at the Pickleball Tournament "Dan Tri 20 Years - Bright New Day":

"The pickleball tournament "Dan Tri 20 years - Bright new day" aims to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the establishment of Dan Tri Electronic Newspaper. This is also a very meaningful event spreading the spirit of solidarity, healthy lifestyle, positive energy and especially the tournament also has a profound humanitarian spirit. All fees contributed by athletes will be used to build 5 charity houses in Cao Bang province, support people facing difficulties in life and respond to the movement to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses launched by the Prime Minister.

I wish we will have a successful tournament with many beautiful moves as well as sportsmanship, solidarity, fun and bring joy, excitement and positive energy to everyone. Thank you very much."

Athlete Minh Tiep shared before entering the competition and he wouldn't have to "take an early bath" because there were too many strong athletes participating in the tournament.

The team of professional referees prepares and disseminates information carefully before the match.

For the first time, 12-eye VAR technology will be applied at the "Dan Tri 20 Years - Bright New Day" pickleball tournament with the support of MK Vision technology unit.

This is considered the most modern technology applied for the first time at a pickleball tournament in Vietnam with the goal of ensuring the highest level of transparency and fairness, minimizing disputes between athletes and referees in matches for hidden situations, where the ball's trajectory is not visible, or the speed is too fast for the naked eye to follow.

At exactly 8:00 am, the matches in the mixed doubles and men's doubles categories (Dan Tri Lead category) officially started on courts 1-2 and 3-4-5.

The matches were tense, dramatic and a struggle for every point.

Within the framework of the "Dan Tri 20 Years - Bright New Day" pickleball tournament, which gathered 574 participating athletes, the Organizing Committee said that all fees collected from athletes (at 500,000 VND/person) will not be used to cover the organizational costs but will be used to support the construction of 5 Charity houses, helping 5 household with especially difficult circumstances in Cao Bang.
