On the evening of July 5, the final matches of the Open content of the "Dan Tri 20 years - Brilliant new days" pickleball tournament took place one after another on the No. 1 competition field, Pickleball Dai Kim Complex, Hanoi.
Hundreds of spectators and athletes stayed until the last minutes to watch and cheer on the athletes competing in the two final matches.
Entering the final of the Open women's doubles, the athlete pair Si Boi Ngoc and Tran Huyen Trang are full of confidence with their battle experience and a record of winning many tournaments in the country and Southeast Asia.
Athlete Si Boi Ngoc won the women's doubles event at the Malaysian Open Pickleball Tournament at the end of May when defeating many strong opponents in Southeast Asia; won the women's doubles event at level 7.5 held in Dong Nai ; won the mixed doubles event at the VPC Open Tournament; and won the bronze medal at the 2025 National Pickleball Championship...
The pair Minh Ngoc (born in 2008) and Tue Ngoc (born in 2007) made a strong impression in the tournament when they advanced to the final thanks to extremely dramatic victories in the quarter-finals and semi-finals against higher-rated opponents.
However, lack of experience and battle prowess, coupled with a back injury in the middle of the final match, prevented "Song Ngoc" from showing his full potential.
Athletes Si Boi Ngoc and Tran Huyen Trang won the Open women's doubles championship with a convincing 15-5 victory over the pair Minh Ngoc - Tue Ngoc.
In the final match of the Open men's doubles, the championship candidate pair Dat "tro" and Trieu "cúc ball" faced off against two players Quoc Khanh and Minh Luan from Tien Giang .
As a former national tennis player, with a fast, strong playing style and clear tactics, athlete Quoc Khanh and his partner Minh Luan continuously put pressure on and left their opponents far behind.
Expected to be the championship candidates of Dan Tri newspaper's pickleball tournament, the two athletes Dat "tro" and Trieu "cau ban" easily won many qualifying matches and did not encounter any obstacles on their journey to the final match.
However, the Hanoi couple had to give up their rackets 5-15 to the better pair Quoc Khanh and Minh Luan, thereby the couple from Tien Giang won the Open men's doubles championship.
At the end of the first day of competition, the Organizing Committee awarded trophies and prizes to the couples with outstanding achievements in the Open women's doubles and men's doubles.
Tomorrow (July 6), the pickleball tournament "Dan Tri 20 years - Bright new day" continues to compete in 4 categories: Dan Tri & Friends; Women's Doubles 5.0; Men's Doubles 5.5 and Men's Doubles 6.5.
