This achievement is said to be thanks to Apple's strong price cuts in May, along with the influence of a national subsidy program to support smartphone purchases.

"Apple's iPhone price adjustment in May was well-timed and well-received, coming just a week before the shopping festival," said Ethan Qi, research analyst at Counterpoint Research .
This recovery marks a turning point after a long period of decline for Apple in the Chinese market. From the third quarter of 2022 to the first quarter of 2025, Apple's revenue in this country continuously decreased compared to the same period of previous years.
Apple has faced many challenges, including trade tensions, restrictions on iPhone use in government agencies, and fierce competition from a host of domestic brands.
In the first quarter, Apple was the only major smartphone maker to report a decline in sales in China. In the second quarter, Huawei took the lead in growth and market share, with sales growing 12% year-on-year.

"Huawei is still winning the loyalty of users as they continue to upgrade their old phones with new products from Huawei," said Ivan Lam, senior analyst at Counterpoint Research .
Vivo ranked second in market share, while Apple ranked third. The US tech giant is under fierce competition from Chinese brands, especially in terms of product prices.
China is one of Apple's most important markets, accounting for about 20% of global iPhone sales. However, analysts at Counterpoint Research also warned that this growth may not last until the second half of the year.
