Of which, Ca Mau province has 6 re-recognized tourist attractions including: Hung Vuong Square, Bac Lieu Prince's Residence, Saigon - Bac Lieu Hotel, Bac Lieu Wind Power Plant, Quan Am Phat Dai and Nha Mat Tourist Area. Up to now, the whole province has a total of 12 typical regional tourist attractions.
Mr. Tran Viet Phuong, Chairman of the Mekong Delta Tourism Association, presented the decision to recognize and re-recognize typical tourist destinations in 2025 to the units.
This activity is part of the meeting to celebrate the 65th anniversary of Vietnam Tourism Day (July 9, 1960 - July 9, 2025). The event is not only an opportunity to review the 65-year development of Vietnam's tourism industry but also to honor typical groups and destinations that have actively contributed to improving the image, quality and competitiveness of regional tourism.
Ms. Cao Thi Ngoc Lan, Permanent Vice President of Vietnam Tourism Association, highly appreciated the efforts and development of tourism in the Mekong Delta.
Delegates assessed the outstanding results achieved by the tourism industry in the Mekong Delta region in the first 6 months of the year. The whole region welcomed about 35.2 million visitors, an increase of 17% over the same period in 2024. Of which, there were more than 2 million international visitors, an increase of 54%. Total revenue from tourism activities reached nearly 53,881 billion VND, an increase of 54.5%, showing the recovery and positive development of the regional tourism industry after the pandemic and the challenges of climate change. In particular, the network of typical tourist destinations has been continuously expanded, from 9 initially recognized points (2009-2011), to 63 points by June 2025.
Mekong Delta Tourism Association rewards collectives and individuals who actively participate in local and Association activities in 2025.
Speaking at the meeting, Ms. Cao Thi Ngoc Lan, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Tourism Association, emphasized that with the goal of making tourism a spearhead economic sector, creating momentum for other sectors and fields, regional tourism needs to focus on researching and selecting key markets; diversifying promotion and advertising activities; strongly applying digital transformation. At the same time, focusing on building new tourism products, renewing existing products; developing safe, friendly and quality destinations. At the same time, repositioning typical products and tourism routes after merging administrative units.
Ca Mau Department of Culture - Sports and Tourism displayed and promoted tourism products at the meeting.
On this occasion, the Association awarded certificates of merit to 30 tourist destinations, groups and individuals who have excellently completed their tasks and actively participated in local and Tourism Association activities in 2025.
