On July 5, Mr. Phan Thanh Hai - Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of Hue City - said that the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has issued a decision to include two typical cultural heritages of Hue City in the list of national intangible cultural heritages, including the new rice festival of the Co Tu people and folk knowledge about Hue beef noodle soup.

The festival has a strong indigenous character with traditional rituals such as sacrifice, gong and drum dance, Padil Yayă dance and erecting the Xonur sacrificial pole - the spiritual symbol of the community.

The ceremony can be held at the family or village level, and is an opportunity to unite the community and preserve the culture of ethnic regions in the mountainous region.

This is the result of a meticulous research and documentation process conducted by the Central Institute of Culture, Arts and Sports, in coordination with the Department of Culture and Sports of Hue City and the local community.

In addition, the ministry also recognized folk knowledge about Hue beef noodle soup as a national intangible heritage, a type of folk knowledge.

This recognizes the cultural, historical and culinary value of Hue's signature dish - dubbed "the best soup in the world " by the late famous chef Anthony Bourdain on CNN.

Hue beef noodle soup is not only a famous dish domestically and internationally, but is also associated with traditional craft villages such as Van Cu, O Sa, and the exquisite craftsmanship of artisans such as Mai Thi Tra, Hoang Thi Nhu Huy, Ton Nu Thi Ha, Phan Ton Gia Hien...

This registration is the foundation for Hue to promote the preservation and promotion of culinary values, aiming to become a UNESCO Creative City in the culinary field./.
