Realize your dream of settling down
With the tradition of “When drinking water, remember its source”, “Repaying gratitude”, “The healthy leaves cover the torn leaves” and the viewpoint of “ Economic development goes hand in hand with social development”, Tay Ninh has issued many plans to call for the joint efforts and contributions of the whole society in the journey of building and repairing gratitude houses, Great Solidarity houses for families with preferential policies, people with meritorious services, poor and near-poor households facing housing difficulties.
In Long An province (old), in a short time, 328 houses of families with preferential policies and meritorious people that were in disrepair were replaced with solid, spacious, and clean houses. Each newly built house was supported with 100 million VND, and each repaired house was supported with 50 million VND. The beneficiaries of this phase of building and repairing gratitude houses were households that had no land or counterpart funds before; families with preferential policies had houses built in the first phase of the program, but now they are in disrepair and need continued attention and support.
In Long An province (old), in just a short time, 328 houses of families with preferential policies and people with revolutionary contributions that were deteriorating were replaced with solid, spacious, clean houses.
Vice Chairwoman of Hau Thanh Commune People's Committee - Nguyen Thi My Mieu said: "The saving movement to mobilize social resources to build and repair charity houses in the province is a command from heart to heart. Therefore, the political system and all classes of people have joined in, implementing with all the sense of responsibility of today's generation for the sacrifices of previous generations. Up to now, Hau Thanh commune has repaired 5 charity houses for policy families and meritorious people who are facing housing difficulties."
Implementing the emulation movement "Joining hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses", the province has connected many kind hearts, sharing and contributing funds to help the poor reach their dream of "settling down and having a career". The local government has proactively sent forces such as the militia, the Youth Union, and the Women's Union to contribute working days to build and repair charity houses and Great Solidarity for single-parent families. As a result, to date, the province has handed over more than 900 houses with a total cost of about 76 billion VND to the poor and families in difficult circumstances.

Ms. Le Thi Truc Phuong (Thanh Phuoc commune) shared: “I am a single mother, my family is poor, the main income comes from working for hire. Although I was supported with 80 million VND to build the Great Unity house, I was very worried because I was afraid that I would not have enough money to build it. Luckily, during the time of building the house, the local government sent forces to support me with pouring the floor and doing masonry. Thanks to that, I was able to reduce a part of the construction costs and my dream of a new house came true.”
Joy in the new home
Returning after completing his international mission, Mr. Bui Van Ut Nho - a 4/4 class disabled veteran, residing in Nhon Ninh commune, had many injuries on his body. With the nature of Uncle Ho's soldier trained and matured in the army, he continued to be enthusiastic on the labor and production front. Thanks to that, his family's economy was relatively stable. However, recently, due to old age and the recurrence of old injuries, his health has weakened a lot, so his dream of a new house has been unfulfilled.
Mr. Ut Nho confided: “My house was built nearly 30 years ago and is very dilapidated! I have planned to build a new house several times, but it is very difficult to save 100 million VND. Fortunately, today's generation is always grateful and respectful towards those who have contributed to the revolution. My family received 100 million VND from Vietnam Prosperity Joint Stock Commercial Bank to build a house of gratitude. Having a new house, I feel very happy!”
Local authorities hand over charity houses
In 2000, Ms. Vo Thi Lua (wife of a martyr, residing in Nhi Thanh commune) received support from all levels and sectors to build a house of gratitude. Over time, the house had deteriorated. As soon as the policy of building and repairing houses of gratitude for families of policy beneficiaries and meritorious people was issued, Ms. Lua was prioritized by the local government to be included in the support list.
On the day of handing over the house, local authorities and neighbors came to celebrate, congratulate and give Mrs. Lua many practical and meaningful gifts such as a TV, rice cooker, fan, gas stove, etc. Mrs. Lua said: "Thanks to the attention of the Party, the State and today's generation, my family has the conditions to repair the house to be spacious, clean and beautiful like this."
The success of building and repairing houses of gratitude and solidarity for families with meritorious services, the poor, and the poor is not only the number of houses built and donated, but also the spread of good and kind things in life. The completed and put into use houses have touched the hearts of many people, realizing the dream of "settling down and having a career"./.
