BSR successfully researched and sold the first Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) product in early June 2025. This is one of the milestones in BSR's determination to carry out scientific research and innovation.
Over the past 5 years, Binh Son Refining and Petrochemical Joint Stock Company has successfully produced many new products, while researching and evaluating over 30 different types of crude oil, of which 14 have been successfully processed, helping to increase flexibility in raw materials. Many workshops operate beyond design capacity (up to 140%) thanks to technical innovations and technological improvements. Subsystems from operations, maintenance, finance to procurement are all thoroughly digitized.
The company is also gradually applying AI technology, machine learning, digital copy, big data in “smart factory” models, especially in the stages of operation, forecasting, optimizing energy consumption and analyzing real-time data. Focusing on developing new products in line with the clean energy trend, Binh Son Refining and Petrochemical Joint Stock Company also aims to conduct in-depth research on new generation petrochemical refining products, clean fuels (meeting Euro 5, Euro 6 standards), green hydrogen, technical polymer materials and recycled products.
These are fields that require a solid scientific foundation, strong research and development capacity, and synchronous investment in both human resources and infrastructure.
