Mr. Nguyen Tuan Kiet, head coach of the Vietnamese women's volleyball team, said that from 2022, Vietnamese women's volleyball will return to participate in international tournaments. Starting from zero but with a quality squad, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team has continuously achieved success by rising to 25th place in the world for the first time after successfully defending the championship title of the recent AVC Nations Cup Asian Volleyball Championship at home. "For nearly 3 years, Vietnamese women's volleyball has been fortunate to have a well-balanced squad of players. They have played together for a long time, so they are very compatible and have a firm grasp of the tactics and playing style of the coaching staff. We are also building the next generation of athletes, laying the foundation to continue the success of our seniors. Therefore, after the success of winning the ticket to the World Volleyball Championship for the first time, the U.21 World Cup this year, we aim to accumulate points, climb to a higher ranking to qualify for the FIVB Nations League for the world's top teams in the next 2 years," Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet shared.

This year, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team has been assigned the target of winning the 33rd SEA Games gold medal. This is considered a high target because we have never defeated Thailand in the SEA Games arena, and this time the opponent has the home field advantage. The Thai players have been trained for many years in the FIVB Nations League, and with the return of veteran coach Kiattipong, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team promises to make history against an opponent who is in the process of generational transition. Before the 33rd SEA Games, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team will train in Japan for 20-25 days to improve their skills and physical condition.
