According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, with its unique and typical values, the Vishnu Statue in Vung Liem was recognized by the Prime Minister as a National Treasure in 2018.

Since being recognized, the department has directed specialized units to implement the display and preservation work based on current regulations; at the same time, ensure security, safety and take measures to respond to risks for this national treasure.

The Vishnu statue in Vung Liem is currently on permanent display at the Ethnic Culture House of the Provincial Museum. This treasure is preserved according to museum standards (temperature, humidity, light) and is periodically inspected, cleaned and monitored for physical condition in accordance with the provisions of the current Law on Cultural Heritage.

The statue is placed on a high platform and in a tempered glass cage; there is a camera surveillance system in the exhibition area, storage area and security forces are deployed on a regular basis. In terms of fire prevention and fighting, the unit also equips on-site fire prevention and fighting equipment (fire extinguishers, smoke sensors, water sprinklers, etc.); organizes periodic on-site fire prevention and fighting drills to promptly and proactively respond to situations that arise.

In the coming time, the Provincial Museum proposes that the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism open many specialized training courses on the protection, preservation and promotion of the value of national treasures for management staff, interpreters and especially those working in the preservation of artifacts. In addition, it proposes that competent authorities give priority to considering and allocating funds to purchase necessary and specialized equipment to ensure conditions for the preservation and preservation of artifacts and national treasures and the display of especially rare artifacts according to regulations.
