As of the end of June - July 2025, almost all popular MPV models in Vietnam are offering discounts from 20 to more than 60 million VND. Of which, Mitsubishi Xpander is currently receiving 50% support for registration fees, equivalent to a discount of 28 - 35 million VND. After the discount, the actual selling price of Xpander is only from 532 - 663 million VND, depending on the version. Not out of the game, Toyota also launched strong incentives for two key MPV models. Avanza Premio and Veloz Cross are currently supported with 100% of registration fees, equivalent to a reduction of 56 - 60 million VND and 64 - 66 million VND. Thanks to that, the actual selling price of these two models is only about 502 - 538 million VND and 574 - 594 million VND, respectively.
This July, customers who buy the Suzuki XL7 Hybrid model will also receive a 50% discount on registration fees, equivalent to a cash incentive of 30 - 36 million VND. Vehicles manufactured in 2024 will also receive a discount of up to 100% of the fee, with the actual price of the vehicle ranging from 530 - 540 million VND. Honda BR-V is also applying a 50% registration fee support program, equivalent to a reduction of 31.5 - 42.3 million VND. However, the price after the incentive of Honda BR-V is still higher than most competitors in the same segment. Hyundai Stargazer - the MPV model with the lowest starting price in the segment is also currently supported with 100% registration fee, equivalent to a preferential level of 49 - 60 million VND for all versions.
The KIA Carens MPV model also has preferential programs from 5 - 22 million VND depending on the version, along with some additional accessory packages to increase competitiveness in the segment. In May 2025, car sales in the entire Vietnamese market decreased slightly by 1.5% compared to the previous month. However, the MPV segment alone recorded impressive growth, reaching 4,349 vehicles, up 14.5% compared to April. Of which, Mitsubishi Xpander and Toyota Veloz Cross continued to lead in sales volume. According to experts, the current wave of incentives offers a clear opportunity for consumers, especially those considering investing in service vehicles. With low initial investment costs, buyers are more accessible and can shorten the payback period, an important factor in the context of economic instability.
The compact MPV line is considered a reasonable choice for both family and business purposes. MPV can carry 7 people, comes with a flexible interior, many models are also equipped with full comfort and safety features such as 360 camera, hill start assist, blind spot warning, and adaptive cruise control. In the context of electric vehicles emerging as a trend, but investment costs and infrastructure are still major barriers, affordable gasoline/hybrid MPVs are still the priority choice of many Vietnamese people, especially those who want to participate in the field of technology passenger transport.
