On the morning of October 17, Hai Duong City (Hai Duong Province) organized activities to celebrate the 220th anniversary of Thanh Dong's founding and the 70th anniversary of the city's liberation.
The locality has honored "Outstanding Citizens", commended "Thanh Dong People - Good words, good actions" and awarded prizes in literary and artistic composition contests about the city.
Speaking at the conference, Chairman of Hai Duong Provincial People's Committee Le Ngoc Chau emphasized that Hai Duong City is the political , economic, cultural and social center, a first-class urban area under the province, and a locality with many great contributions in all aspects.
In recent times, in the context of a general situation with mixed difficulties and advantages, with the high determination of the Party Committee, authorities at all levels and the people, the city's patriotic emulation movements and campaigns associated with "studying and following Ho Chi Minh 's ideology, morality and style" have been widely deployed.
The movements have created a vibrant competitive atmosphere, with many shining examples emerging. “The citizens and individuals honored today, regardless of their field or position, through their specific and practical daily actions, have demonstrated a spirit of effort, training, striving, and determination to contribute to making Hai Duong increasingly civilized and prosperous.
The achievements of advanced models, good people, and good deeds are convincing and have a strong influence, truly a bright and vivid example, contributing to the cultivation of awareness, ideology, and emotions, arousing and multiplying the positive aspects in each citizen, contributing to the successful implementation of the renovation, development of the homeland and country, and building the culture and people of the East", Mr. Chau noted.
The writing contest “Hai Duong, the city I love” received thousands of entries. Along with that, there were hundreds of entries in the songwriting contest, photo contest and sculpture creation contest. That speaks to the passion, intelligence and above all, the love of the authors for Hai Duong. According to the Chairman of the Hai Duong Provincial People’s Committee, this is a very practical thing to do.
Literary and artistic works will spread to all classes of people and tourists so that they can know more about the beautiful historical and cultural traditions of the ancient Thanh Dong, the construction and strong development of Hai Duong City today.
The results of this contest also contribute to educating revolutionary traditions, fostering love for the homeland and country; introducing and promoting the unique beauty of the people and development potential of the city to domestic and international friends.
“I suggest that in the coming time, the city must do a good job of preserving and promoting cultural and historical values, creating a friendly and safe living environment for the happiness of the people, and creating momentum for socio-economic development.

With its strong internal strength, Thanh Dong people will create new stages of development, extending the historical value of the past 220 years", the Chairman of Hai Duong Province hoped.
On this occasion, Hai Duong City awarded the title of "Outstanding Citizen" to 16 individuals and commended 22 typical examples in the movement "Thanh Dong People - Good words, good actions" and awarded many prizes for valuable musical compositions, sculptures and writings.
