Delegates perform the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of Bo De Hai Dao Pagoda.
Bo De Hai Dao Pagoda is the first Khmer Theravada Buddhist pagoda established and built in Phu Quoc special zone with an area of 6,000m2 , to serve the religious needs of monks, Buddhists, and Phu Quoc people, while contributing to preserving and promoting Buddhist cultural values in the area and attracting tourists to worship.
The pagoda is built with the following items: Main hall, lecture hall (Sala), dormitory, Khmer classroom and other items. The total estimated investment for the entire project is 49 billion VND, of which the main hall has an investment of 18 billion VND.
Venerable Tran Phuong, abbot of Bo De Hai Dao Pagoda, said that the pagoda was built not only as a place for monks and local Buddhists to study and practice, but also as a cultural and spiritual symbol of Khmer Theravada Buddhism in the middle of Vietnam's sea and islands.
The pagoda, when put into use, will contribute to preserving the morality, compassion and wisdom of Buddhism, while meeting the needs of belief and moral education in the community, creating a spiritual and cultural highlight for Phu Quoc, a special administrative and economic unit that is on the path of developing sustainable tourism associated with traditional culture...

The Standing Committee of the Buddhist Sangha of Kien Giang province (before the merger) presented a symbolic plaque to support Bo De Hai Dao pagoda with 50 million VND.
On this occasion, the Executive Committee of the Buddhist Sangha of Kien Giang province (before the merger) presented a symbolic support plaque of 50 million VND; the Association of Patriotic Buddhist Monks and Monks of Kien Giang province supported 100 million VND.
