The deal for Nico Williams to Barca is still not finalized because the Catalan team cannot guarantee something that seems very simple: registering his name in La Liga.
The reason is that Barca's current salary fund still exceeds La Liga 's allowed threshold, so they are not allowed to register new players.
According to an update from transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Nico Williams' side made a strict request to the Nou Camp team: they must commit in writing, ensuring that he can be registered in La Liga, before agreeing to join Barca.
