In order to contribute to improving the management efficiency of state management agencies and helping enterprises, cooperatives, production households, and production establishments in the province improve their competitiveness with similar products on the market, Yen Bai province has put into operation the Product Origin Traceability Information System since 2013.

The traceability system includes product identification, collection and storage of status information over time and location to manage product quality and safety information. This is increasingly important, contributing to protecting consumer rights, increasing business competitiveness, and preventing commercial fraud.

Currently, in the province, many key products have been attached with traceability stamps operating on the system such as: Suoi Giang Shan Tuyet Tea; Nam Lanh Bamboo Shoots, Tu Le Sticky Rice (Van Chan District); Minh An Cooperative's Golden Flower Tea, Phinh Ho Shan Tuyet Tea, Taro (Tram Tau District); Dai Minh Grapefruit (Yen Binh District), Cinnamon Essential Oil, Na Hau Sturgeon (Van Yen District). Most of the products participating in the traceability portal have been certified as 3-star and 4-star OCOP products of the province.

To achieve the goal of tracing the origin of at least 10 groups of agricultural, forestry, fishery and key food products by the end of 2025; connecting and participating in the application of the National Origin Tracing Information Portal, Yen Bai provincial authorities are stepping up support and consulting for organizations and individuals to build a safe product supply chain with the application of the origin tracing system. At the same time, the province continues to attract and encourage the development of preservation, deep processing, refined processing and high-tech processing industries according to the planning orientation combined with consumption organization measures to expand consumption and increase product value.
