On the morning of July 17, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST) held a conference to review the work of the first 6 months of the year and deploy tasks for the last 6 months of the year.
The conference took place both in person and online at 35 locations (the Central location at the headquarters of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and 34 locations at the People's Committees of provinces and centrally run cities.
According to the report at the Conference, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism coordinated to block and remove 2 websites and 4 links on Facebook regarding advertising activities with content violating regulations related to food safety.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, together with the competent agencies of the Ministry of Health, will strengthen the handling of cases of celebrities and online influencers who violate the law on advertising functional foods, such as the cases of Mr. Pham Quang Linh (Quang Linh Vlogs) and Ms. Nguyen Thi Thai Hang (Hang Du Muc) for advertising Kera vegetable candy and LoiNest bird's nest products incorrectly, causing confusion about the announced quality.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism considered and administratively sanctioned Mr. Tran Quang Minh (BTV Quang Minh) and Ms. Nguyen Thanh Van (MC Van Hugo) for advertising the nutritional product Hiup 27 inconsistently with one of the published documents; causing confusion about the product's uses; using the name of a doctor with a total fine of: 107.5 million VND.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism reminded Mr. Mai Huyen Linh (MC Quyen Linh) about advertising food that was not in accordance with one of the prescribed documents and caused confusion about the announced uses of the product.
The Ministry also reminded Mr. Dao Trong Hung (actor Doan Duc Dam) about advertising breast milk substitutes for children under 24 months old, which are prohibited products for advertising (these two cases have passed the statute of limitations for administrative violations in the field of advertising).
On the afternoon of July 17, confirming with Dan Tri reporter , Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Huyen - Deputy Director of the Department of Radio, Television and Electronic Information (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) - said that this unit invited MC Quyen Linh and actor Doan Quoc Dam to work, because the advertising video was from 2022-2023, so it has exceeded the statute of limitations for punishment according to the law.
"We have reminded MC Quyen Linh and Doan Quoc Dam about advertising products. Hopefully, artists will be more careful in accepting advertisements in the future," said Ms. Huyen.
According to a representative of the Department of Radio, Television and Electronic Information, there is currently a situation where KOLs (famous people), including many editors, journalists... accept advertisements for food, health protection foods and violate the provisions of the law on advertising.
Specifically, they advertise incorrectly or misleadingly about the quality, price, uses... of registered or announced products, goods, and services...
The reason for the above situation is that advertisers lack basic knowledge about advertising products and services, especially food, medicine, and medical examination and treatment services - which have a direct impact on human health and life, or do not thoroughly research the products they advertise.
Therefore, the Department of Radio, Television and Electronic Information recommends that advertisers need to carefully research the product, check the ingredients, uses, and documents related to the product, have a sense of responsibility to the community, avoid advertising that exaggerates the product's uses, regardless of the need to achieve profits and sales.
