(NLDO) - In addition to being fined 1.5 million VND, the woman who threw a plastic cup into the Ca Ty River - Phan Thiet City in front of customers was also forced to pay the cost to remedy the consequences.


On March 25, the People's Committee of Lac Dao Ward (Phan Thiet City, Binh Thuan Province) issued a decision to fine a woman who collected and threw plastic cups into the Ca Ty River in front of customers, causing a stir in public opinion.

Accordingly, the Chairman of Lac Dao Ward People's Committee fined Ms. D.BV (born in 1979, residing in Duc Long Ward, Phan Thiet City) 1.5 million VND for dumping garbage and plastic waste generated from daily activities into Ca Ty River, as prescribed in Article 25, Decree No. 45/2022/ND-CP of the Government .

The decision also required Ms. V. to restore the original condition and pay the costs of organizing the remediation of the consequences.

In addition to fining the owner of the coffee shop for littering in the wrong place, on the evening of March 24, Lac Dao ward also launched an inspection and handling of illegal shops along the Ca Ty river.

Previously, on some social networking sites, many people shared a video about the act of littering in the Ca Ty River.

According to a video recorded by a customer, the owner of a roadside water shop along Ca Ty embankment (Lac Dao ward, Phan Thiet city) after cleaning up the plastic cups containing used water, gathered them all into a plastic bag and threw them straight into the Ca Ty river.

Many people were surprised and upset by the behavior of the restaurant owner.

Previously, in October 2024, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Mui Ne Ward (Phan Thiet City, Binh Thuan Province) also issued a decision to administratively fine the owner of Jeju Coffee Shop VND 1.5 million for poor management, allowing employees to dump plastic waste generated from daily activities into the sea.
