Vietjet launches direct flight to Brisbane

Australia's Vietjet today launched a route connecting Ho Chi Minh City and the capital of Queensland, becoming the first airline to have direct flights between Vietnam and this state.

Vietjet’s new route was launched on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Vietnam-Australia diplomatic relations. The inaugural flight was welcomed by the people, tourists and leaders of the two countries.

Previously, on the occasion of Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese's official visit to Vietnam, on June 4, in Hanoi , the Prime Ministers of the two countries attended the ceremony to announce the new flight route. At the event, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese expressed his excitement at having the first flight route connecting Vietnam with the city of Brisbane, where the 2032 Summer Olympics will take place.

Vietjet Deputy General Director, Mr. Michael Hickey, assessed that with Vietjet's route connecting the two sunny and beautiful cities of Brisbane and Ho Chi Minh City, people and tourists will be able to fly directly for the first time, easily traveling between the two localities, two countries, two regions. The crew and company leaders welcomed customers to have a good flight journey, full of smiles with Vietjet.

The route will have two round trips per week, departing on Mondays and Fridays. Vietjet also launched a series of unlimited promotional programs, providing "green culinary jet cafe" with many delicious hot dishes, using large aircraft... for these flights.

Brisbane is the third largest city and is known as the "New York" of Australia with a blend of a young, vibrant urban area and natural scenery. Meanwhile, the city named after Uncle Ho is a prominent economic, cultural and tourist center of Vietnam as well as the region with many Asian cultural features, a bustling pace of life and convenient connections to Vietnamese and international destinations.

Vietjet representative affirmed that the new route will contribute to promoting tourism and bilateral trade between Vietnam and Australia, expanding Vietjet's flight network on the east coast of Australia, the most crowded area in the "land of kangaroos". Since April, the airline has launched two direct routes connecting Ho Chi Minh City and Sydney, Melbourne. With the new route to Brisbane, Vietjet operates a total of eight round-trip flights per week from Vietnam to Australia.
