Pursuant to the Prime Minister's decision approving the Project on organizing activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the People's Public Security Traditional Day and the 20th anniversary of the National Security Day, the Ministry of Public Security issued a plan to organize the 2025 ASEAN Police Football Tournament in Vietnam.
The tournament is organized by the Ministry of Public Security, assigned to the Department of Political Work to preside over, coordinate with functional units of the Ministry of Public Security, the Vietnam People's Public Security Sports Association, the Vietnam Sports Department, the Vietnam Football Federation to coordinate with sponsors to organize.
The tournament will take place from July 5 to July 15 at Hang Day Stadium ( Hanoi ) and PVF Center (Hung Yen). The tournament will have the participation of 8 teams, including 2 host teams (People's Public Security I and II), 5 teams from Southeast Asia, 1 team from outside the region (Australia). The winning team will receive a cash prize of 30,000 USD.

The group stage of the 2025 ASEAN Police Football Tournament will take place in a round-robin format, divided into 2 groups, with the top 2 teams from each group advancing to the semi-finals.
Group A (Hang Day Stadium) includes: Vietnam People's Public Security I, Laos, Thailand, Cambodia. Group B (PVF Stadium) includes: Vietnam People's Public Security II, Australia, Singapore, Timor Leste.
Colonel Pham Kim Dinh, a member of the organizing committee, shared: "This is the fourth time Vietnam has hosted the event. The previous tournaments were held in 1998, 2007, and 2012, all of which were successful and spread traditional values and national pride.
The players participating will mostly be police officers from other countries, including Vietnam. Basically, the national championships of the countries in the region have just ended, professional players are on vacation, so calling them up needs to be considered by the clubs. Therefore, we are not sure about professional players, so we are preparing the main force, which is the police force."
In the 2024-2025 season of Vietnamese professional football that just ended, Hanoi Police Club won 3rd place in V-League and won the National Cup. In the Hanoi Police squad, there are many national players such as: Quang Hai, Van Thanh, Bui Hoang Viet Anh...
The ASEAN Police Football Tournament is an international sports friendly activity of important political and diplomatic significance, helping to promote the sports movement, improve health and team spirit for officers and soldiers.
The award also enhances the position and image of the Vietnam People's Public Security Force as a regular, elite and modern force; strengthens cooperation, solidarity, friendship and mutual understanding between the Public Security Forces of ASEAN countries and some partner countries, actively contributing to the struggle for peace and stability in the region.
At the same time, the award also contributes to promoting tourism, rich culture, and the image of a peaceful, friendly, and hospitable Vietnam to international friends.
