Rashford lost his number 10 shirt at MU.

Instead, the number 10 shirt will go to new signing Matheus Cunha, who has just joined the team for a fee of £62.5 million from Wolves. Cunha expressed his desire to wear the number 10 shirt before joining MU. The Brazilian striker will follow the legendary shirt number worn by George Best, Sir Bobby Charlton and Denis Law.

Since joining the first team, Rashford has worn three different shirt numbers, including 39, 19 and 10. He officially received the number 10 shirt at Old Trafford in 2018.

The decision to strip Rashford of his shirt number comes as the England striker joins four other players who have expressed their desire to leave Old Trafford this summer. In addition to Rashford, the group includes Alejandro Garnacho, Jadon Sancho, Antony and Tyrell Malacia.

Manager Ruben Amorim has announced that all five players may miss pre-season training next week as they work out their futures. United have also pledged to provide medical and rehabilitation support to the group if needed.

Rashford has had a difficult season on loan at Aston Villa. On July 3, the Premier League club confirmed that they will not spend £40 million to buy Rashford permanently. Currently, the English player's ambition is to join Barcelona. He is willing to take a pay cut to achieve this dream.
